I have eaten at this restaurant several times and love the chicken panang. It is excellent. I must have ordered a dozen times. I decided to try something different and went with the red and yellow curry chicken and it was equally terrific. So I am concluding the food is very good.
My problem with Tum Rub Thai is the fact that I ordered to the red and yellow curry togo and kept getting chicken panang. I mentioned this to the manager and he tried to convince me that the vegetables are different but the sauce is the same. I ordered all three tonight the red curry, yellow curry and chicken panang. We got them home and they were all chicken panang. I called the restaurant and the waitress acknowledged that they made a mistake and our order was waiting for us to come back and get it. I told her we started eating the first order and she insisted that we could have the correct order and apologized. So far the they made a mistake acknowledge it and offered to correct it and I still love the place.
My wife gets there the manager starts arguing with her and wont let the waitress get involved. He gets on the phone with me and tells me that there isn't a difference between the dishes except the vegetables. Com-on give me a break you offered to correct the problem on the phone then want to charge us when we came up to get the right order, and lied right to my wifes face and to me.
Note: We placed each of the containers Red Curry, Yellow Curry and Chicken Pangang in different dishes and none of us could distinguish the slightest difference because they were all chicken panang which was still very good.
So stupid to lie and argue when you make a mistake. I will not go back there to an argumentative liar. The food is excellent if you get what you asked for. The service was always very good. Hope they replace the manager (or maybe owner).
Its ashame to loose an otherwise devoted customer because you wont fix your mistake and then...
Read moreDo NOT order the lobster "Sizzling seafood" the lobster was inedible :( like it was frozen, microwaved and then thrown on a grill. Tasted Many days old like a year old gummy bear or as My spouse said "like rubber" there was no sweet lobster taste at all more like a sour cardboard taste. The (scallop-s) was a half of a scallop, cut in half. Yes, a half a scallop literally cut in half. Not even 1 scallop. I guess them cutting a scallop in half and then another half counts for advertising "scallops" I'm not joking đ but at least the shrimp and squid tasted good. Nothing to write home about. It quite disturbs me that this is a Thai restaurant who normally take pride in what they cook. And considering this is Palm Harbor - it should be Good. I beg to differ I'm probably going to go to New Port Richey and have some Thai there cuz wow it's probably better Lobster than what they served me. I have nothing...
Read moreMy husband and I have been going to this restaurant for many years. We miss the previous owners. Tonight we had good food and service from our lovely server, but this old grouchy lady that I have never seen before has made us never want to return.
I called just after we walked out to share our experience and she answered the phone and told me to bad you drank too much and we donât care. We have many customers. My husband and I shared 4 small Sakai bottle and for us over time is not much. My husband had canceled a card and forgot and used it. She came to our table YELLING âyou card no good⊠it declinedâ he immediately gave her another card and looked at me like OMG!
I hope they let her go since she is a nasty person that should not work with the public. I am disappointed that they would have such a harsh nasty person working there. Maybe she can get some anger...
