Big Bear Supermarket — Local services in Panthersville

I thought this grocery store was quite convenient to S. Dekalb Mall. They appear to have many items and the prices seem cheaper than Krogers for many things.

They have a policy where you must leave all outside bags/bookbags at the front. Which i thought was strange (never had seen that before in supermarket).

I had a situation where i was charged an incorrect price for some items ($2.79 vs 1.99). I pointed it out to the cashier (who was customer service) and she initially responded that i must have picked up the wrong items (she didnt actually check). So i went back and looked at the items and took a photo.. After going back to the CS desk, THEN she have an attendant check the price. They verify it is $1.99. NO APOLOGY. but they did refund the difference. And i even bought another item i didnt know existed because it was in a different aisle (they guy who checked the prices had brought it to the cashier for comparison).

So i didnt want to give 1 or 2 star review and be accused of not supporting black owned businesses or being "petty". But was i wrong for not wanting to be...

Very great place. Experience usually good there but had a very rude cashier today in lane one. There was only 2 cashiers,lane 2 has customer with buggy full if groceries so I went to lane one. As I was putting my groceries on the belt, the cashier asked medic you have 15 items or less? After counting my items, I had 20 items. I told her I have a little over. She told me I could not come through the line. I then had to all my items back in my buggy and go to lane 2 where the lady had a full buggy of grocery. As I was in the line 2, the guy in front of me in line one notice he did spend 20 dollar so he wanted to get extra items so his transaction could total 20 dollars. The cashier rudly told him sir you can't go get any thing else because you have your 20 items. There was no one else in the line after him or me so out of courtesy she could have completed both our transactions. The gentlemen told the manager but she seems to not ever care. I also spoke with the manager via phone but again she did seem to care. I will be trying to get in touch with their corporate office to...

HORRIBLE.! I came here to cash in my wic vouchers and the cashier was being very rude.! She argued with me up and down about the things i always get saying. "We dont not accept this. Big bear do not accept the stuff that you are trying to get." So i told her "everytime i come here i get the same things so why is it a problem this time.?" Then she starting talking mess about me to her coworker. When we were coming to an end she asked me if i wanted some more fruit becasue i had enough to get more so i said "sure " While i was walking off she asked me what kind of fruit i was getting and i said 2 green apples and 2 red ones." So when i came back she said to me with an adittude "YOU HAVE TO GET 3 RED APPLES SO TAKE BACK THE GREEN ONES." Once she said i asked her "then why ask me what kind of fruit i was getting instead of telling me to gt 3 red apples." She didnt say anything and as i was walking out she started talking more mess with her coworkers and laughing..... I felt very disrespected and WILL NOT SHOP HERE ANYMORE.! Plus their fruits and veggies are very NASTY...
