Re-furbishing your home can be an intimidating affair. Start w/new siding, then repair that leaky wall by the fireplace and paint, but of course you can't paint 1 wall so we painted the whole inside of the house. Now we needed new furniture, starting w/the living room. We had looked at furniture stores before. They were, eh, lackluster, and while the salesman was nice enough he was up our--'scuze me-- he literally never left our sides, pointing out the obvious, telling us which pieces were good, which "less good," and finally trying for the close. The instant we walked into the Bassett Showroom it was like walking into a calm, peaceful professional, elegant, majestic hall, richly appointed and tastefully designed. We were greeted by Donna Heskins, who introduced herself very pleasantly and asked if we needed help or just wanted to be left to browse. The entire presentation up to this point, and Donna's carriage alone already made me feel comfortable and confident enough that i already wanted to buy here. Furthermore, she took an active interest in us w/o being intrusive or overbearing. When we were ready, Donna helped guide us towards and away from what she knew was appropriate for us. How she intuited this is further evidence of her highly skilled professionalism. I was never aware of being "closed," and yet before we left we had furnished our living room. Donna Heskins is an absolutely wonderful sales person, quite versed in her profession and confident enough to know what she doesnt know, and is able to say, "I'll find out for you." 5 stars + Thanks Bassett and most importantly, Thanks again, Donna!

   Read moreHorrendous customer service. I received an item that had a damage in the leather. Customer service was useless. When my initial complaint was supposedly escalated to a supervisor or someone "higher up" than the person who read me a rote response that was not acceptable, and was unable to answer any of my questions, NOBODY had the courtesy to call me back. NOBODY. After one month of no response, I reached out to the store. The person who helped me with the purchase quickly told me he is a 'designer' with limited influence in customer service decision. In my opinion, he is a 'salesman' who sold me the damaged item. Rather than assist me at all with correcting my damaged item, the 'designer' told me the store manager said I can have the item that is on display in the store instead. That item was a floor model that was shop worn and a different color than what I ordered and doesn't not match my room! Seriously?! How is that a resolution? Still....nobody from customer service has ever gotten back to me. I will not shop here again. I will end this review where I started....HORRENDOUS...
   Read moreWe have worked with Sarah Luppino at Bassett to furnish three homes over the past 7 years, and we cannot say enough good things about her! She is so great to work with. I have a hard time putting together colors and textures, and I am very indecisive. She is always so patient and takes her time to help me find what I really love. She is not pushy at all- I never feel pressured to choose something because it's what's "in" (which had been our experience with a designer we previously worked with elsewhere). She knows both my and my husband's style so well at this point, she makes great suggestions to merge the two so we are both happy with the results. She is always responsive, thorough and super friendly. We don't even bother with trying to shop anywhere else. In regards to the products, our Benchmade dining table is my favorite thing we have ever bought for our home. Everything is exceptional quality, their delivery crews are awesome, and if you ever have a problem, they follow up immediately and rectify the situation adequately and quickly. Great...
