I just left this Michaels location in Paramus NJ. I am a customer spends hundreds of dollars at Michaels. I called the store before coming in to find out availability of Happy Planners. I had come in a couple days ago, and at that time they had probably 2 to 3 planners available. When I called I asked if they had more planners available than the couple I had seen the last time I came to the store. The guy who picked up the phone spoke to the “manager” in charge who told him to tell me that they did receive a new shipment and that they had more planners in stock. When I arrived to the store they had the same ones I had seen the last time I came. When I asked the “manager” Melissa why she had mis informed me and made me come all the way here for nothing she was very condescending and proceeded the give a shake of the head and repeated that she understood me but still offered no apology for her mistake and continued to tell me That she did have planner when I had been so specific to my request. The word Manager is in “ “ because she is not management material, she has a-lot to learn, and should try to avoid additional bad reviews for her store. Read moreUnfortunately my experience here today ended my rewards & interest in ANY Michaels. My 1 hand suffers tremors & pain. I wanted several things. 1st I wanted more photo books similar to what I got online. Walked all the way to the back by photo frames, etc. After I walked up & down found an employee who said up front. Me: which side. Him: depends where they stocked them today. I go up front & don't see them. Ask a 2nd guy who may have been MOD. He said at the end of checkout. Ouside the stantions a stock cart & boxes. I still couldn't see. Turns out I'd have to go thru the line & on bottom shelf. Employee #3 Joe kindly goes for me as I cant look on bottom shelf. Hardly had ANY stock. Now that I'm IN checkout line I wasn't going to get out to go back shopping. I had 4 of those items to return. What a process. Had online transaction on my phone. Friendly, courteous & helpful NOT. Just up the road on rt 17 in Paramus are Joann's & Hobby Lobby where their employees go out of their way to help. In that proximity I would think Michaels would try to keep their customers. I left Michaels & spent the rest of my money at Hobby Lobby. I won't be a Michaels customer...
Read moreABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE!! I went into the store with a simple return of something I ordered online, and was immediately turned away and told to handle it online. I went home and called customer who then sent a label and told me to bring it along with the merchandise back to the store, NO BOX NECESSARY. So I did. Upon bringing it back to the store I was told I still couldn’t return it in store despite being told and triple checking that that’s the procedure. It took explaining that this was my experience to four separate employees, and asking for a manager to help to get anywhere. The manager then gave me a hard time for not having a box for the merchandise, despite my explaining that I was explicitly told by customer service not to bring one. I understand and respect the hard work that goes into customer service and store employees/management, but was severely disappointed by how misleading and disorganized this entire process was.
