I visited this courtyard Marriott partly for business and partly to attend an event with my sister. I called ahead of time to find out if they had smart TVs. And we were told that they did. We were going to leave my niece in the room to watch movies while we attended the event. When we checked in we were told that check-ins were going slow because their system was down. There was a long line. I was thinking it was the booking system. They did not say the Internet was down that everything was down. They said the booking system was down that was it. I had to unpack my stuff (and I have a lot because I’m a photographer/videographer) before I figured out myself that there was no internet. No streaming tv. And we ended up not going to the event because I didn’t want to leave my niece by herself with nothing to do. And the lady I spoke to about it was so rude. Most everyone I spoke to it were so rude to me. And making it seem like it’s just my tough luck that they don’t have internet because it’s out of their control. Which I understand it IS out of their control. But I should’ve been told ahead of time at check-in. ||This is how the conversation should’ve gone at check-in: ‘“ We’re sorry we just wanted to let you know the Internet is down we have no idea when it will be back up. It might not be back up tonight. We just want to let you know in case you needed to make other arrangements. ‘ . Then there would of been no problem at all. I could have found another hotel. ||As it was I didn’t get even an apology until the next day. That night it was just it might go up but we can’t guarantee anything. Very short and abrupt. The next day at least they apologized but I was strung along all day. The Internet never went back up all day. I tried to book another room but by that point since it was Saturday everything was sold out! I was stuck!||In the evening people that I spoke to about it we were so rude again. So short with me. Didn’t offer me any kind of compensation. Nothing. And I don’t ever ask for compensation. But I was spending $200 a night. Which is a lot to not get internet and a lot to not get what were the most important parts for me. I wanted to go to My event and I wanted to be able to get a head start on my work week the next day (which required a good internet connection). Both were ruined because they couldn’t tell me about the internet before I checked in. And I am an ambassador level bonvoy member. I’m a super good customer for Marriott. I travel 70% of the year. I don’t think asking for a little communication was...
Read moreI often come to this Marriott whenever I am visiting friends or attending an event up north. I have never had any issues with Marriott. Usually, the front desk agents are kind, welcoming and helpful. They have a nice gym and the hotel is clean for the most part. I came to Marriott about 2 weeks ago for a religious event, and staying here was exhausting.
Upon arrival, the front desk agent was quite welcoming and he ended up putting me in a room on the second floor. When I first walked in, there was a stinch: perhaps someone had been previously smoking in it. So, I requested that they put me in another room and they kindly accommodated. I was moved to a nicer room on the third floor and ended up visiting some friends for the night. When I returned; I slept well that night. The next night I went out to an event and returned late. After falling asleep for an hour or so; I felt that my foot started to itchy badly. I turned on the light and saw a bump on my leg and foot!!! After looking through the sheets; I noticed that there was a tiny bed bug that bit me!!! I called the front desk, and a young male from the front desk, came to my room, witnessed the bed bug and took a picture of it. He also reported it.
I was moved to another room a couple of doors down and was likely so paranoid from the first incident that I felt like I was still getting bit; so they moved me the 4th floor to a room that had not been occupied in for a while. The pillows in that room were stained and it felt unclean. Mind you, they never originally killed the bug that bit me. It’s still hanging around that room.
After learning about this incident, I had to buy trash bags and rubbing alcohol to ensure that I didn’t bring in bed bugs home! I also had to put all of my clothes in the dryer upon leaving.
What aggravated me about this Marriott is how they denied any responsibility even with eye witness and proof of a bed bug and the bites! I even had pictures and so did the front desk agent who witnessed it. They made me go back and forth with claims just to be reimbursed for the ONE night that I was bit. I was eventually reimbursed; but it just showed how deliberately unhelpful they were. My trip resulted in undue stress and sleep deprivation.
Kathy Roan, Sejon Park, Emmer Nalwanga and Luisa Samples were very unresponsive and displayed avoidant behavior when it came to taking accountability for this incident. Jonathan, the front desk agent, was initially honest and I appreciate the small amount of help he TRIED to provide.
Never again will I be staying at this Marriott. This is an honest and...
Read moreOverall the stay was good however the service could have been better from some of the employees. We are Elite members, when I called after booking online to ask if I could have a microwave in the room, I spoke to a very unhelpful person by the name of Keisha I believe, she told me that the standard rooms do not come with a microwave and they there is one in the lobby that I can come down and use. Even after the fact that I told her I have a small baby and that I need to warm her bottles, she was not accommodating at all given the fact that I would have to come all the way down several times holding the baby just to warm a bottle! I felt that that was unexpectable service. I decided to call back and if I had to I would pay extra to get a room with a microwave, the person that answered the phone was so helpful and said it was no problem and they would have microwave in my room for the baby! She was very sweet, I don't remember her name. We arrived late at night with a sleeping baby, after check in the attendants at the desk saw me struggling to push the cart with our things, while my mom held the baby in however they did not offer to help. They both were standing at the desk talking. I asked about the microwave and the gentleman told me he would bring it up. A while after we were settled in he called the room and said that he forgot to bring it up, I told it is was too late at this time and to bring it in the morning. I had to call the front desk the next morning again because no one brought the microwave, again Keisha, very unhelpful like I was burdening her, I told her that I was told I was going to have the microwave brought up to my room in the morning and that no one brought, she says that she is the only one at the front desk and she will send it up when another person came in. She again tells me about the microwave in the lobby, clearly she does not have any children or she would know to wake up a sleeping baby or carry the baby down to the lobby several times is highly inconvenient and tiresome. She did not care nor consider the fact that I have a child and not requesting this for my own personal use but as a necessity. I do however have to highlight one attendant that was so nice and helpful and Keisha should take some tips from him in order to better service customers. His name is Sean, he helped me and brought the cart to my room, he made check out very easy and was a pleasure to deal with. Overall the hotel was very clean and the...
