I wish I knew about Mom's in Dobbs Ferry long ago because I am very pleased at my shopping experience each time I go there. I feel so relaxed in that store. The spaciousness of the isles allows me to walk freely without obstruction and browse while looking at the satisfying array of organic products on the shelves. I appreciate the fact that Mom's has biodegradable plastic bags in the produce section, which I can reuse in order to reduce plastic disposal into the environment. That is an indication of the integrity of this store. The prices are reasonable, and the selections are many. The employees are friendly and very helpful. I wish there were more Mom's Organic Markets everywhere so that more people could enjoy what this business has to offer. My only criticism is that the water machine breaks often, and when it does, it takes way too long for it to be repaired. The corporate store needs to have more than one repair option to call on so that people can purchase water. Unfortunately, it is the corporate office that handles the repair issues, so they need to push for a faster repair response. I travel 11 miles one way in order to use that water machine. That's a round trip of 22 miles, and I have waited as long as a month for the water machine to get repaired. I don't want to travel to Paramus because then I will have to pay the George Washington bridge toll. $$$$ I do not want to use water from plastic bottles whatsoever. They really need to work on improving...
Read moreThey have all the product categories that the big corporate chain has (except the hot food bar), and fresher produce (all organic).
Their prices are competitive with that corporate chain and, in many cases, better.
The people are very nice and you can always find someone to help you. They seem happy to work there. We never wait more than 30 seconds on line, usually less. (REALLY!)
The produce bags are compostable. (I often forget to bring those.)
They offer free (L2) EV charging and free organic coffee while you shop.
The Paramus store plays real jazz on the speaker system all the time.
Some of my favorite items: -Avocados that last longer without going bad -Huge bunch of greens for the same price as the ever shrinking bunch at that corporate chain. -Organic whole bean coffee at about $10/lb -Bread Alone breads which have become difficult to find -Organic chocolate bars such as Alter Eco and Theo's, and Jeni's ice cream for less than the corporate chain. -You can buy a single...
Read moreEgg prices are unbeatable if you are looking for large and free range. They have mustard with ACV which I have not found anywhere else. Their hold a wide variety of meat jerky. They have a few niche items that I get regularly that I cannot find anywhere else. Organic milk price is the lowest I have found. They have ground lamb and DARK ground turkey meat too. Drink selection for those looking for alternatives to non-alcoholic beer are great too. I go there about 2 times per month because I am a 20-minute drive, but well worth the drive. And their recycling options for your hard to find recyclables is fantastic. It isn't my main store I shop in, but it is a store I frequent to keep up my health and make sure my staples are in stock at home. (OH! They also have fine and raw in the dark chocolate which is 4g of sugar per serving compared to Nutella which is over 20g of sugar per serving. So if you still want to have that yumminess in your house without all the sugar,...
