Absolutely disgusting behavior from the manager. The line was wrapped around the entire building and I was at the end. Not a problem whatsoever. Because of the way the line had formed, I was in front of a register that was not open. (Side note: I placed my items on the counter for support because I was holding my child due to the chaos and figured it was fine because no one was there anyway). After hearing them call for help over the speakers TWICE a manager arrived. He began by accosting the staff. Moments later a cashier arrived in front of me and just naturally began scanning my THREE items as I was right in front of the cash register she opened. He yelled at me to let the other people go in front of me, but I said “I’m so sorry she’s already scanning” and he replies “lady there’s 25 people in front of you.” I’m holding my child while this man is yelling at me and the woman had already finished scanning my three items. I would have happily waited my turn but it was a very awkward and intense situation for absolutely no reason. ITS GROCERIES FOR GODS SAKE. I love this grocery store, but I’m seriously considering not going back because he scolded not only the workers but the customers through no fault of anyone’s but his for improper staffing. He continued to huff and puff instead of opening up a register himself to help with the chaos. I called the store and was hoping to have this conversation with him, but someone else answered and I asked her to thank the cashiers for doing a great job under the...
Read moreI shopped at Chuppa's once a week for about 3-4 years. I hadn't been there through this winter. I called the day before St Patrick's Day to order 2 corned beef sandwiches. I told the person on the phone I would pick them up[ on the 17th between 5:30-6:00. They close at 6:00. I got there at 5:40. I went to the deli counter to get my sandwiches and the girl who brought them to me said RUDELY "I hope you know I could have sold there 2 sandwiches ten times over." I was so shocked I didn't know how to respond. I was not late picking them up, so why even say that.
The second incent happened yesterday. I went to the deli counter to get lunchmeat. I asked for the Butterball Oven Roasted Turkey. I was looking in the case to see what else I wanted. I heard the girl behind the counter say something but thought she was talking to a co-worker. The she said RUDELY "Hey, I'm talking to you!" She wanted to know if there was a turkey in the end of the case. The cashiers are very friendly, but the people working behind the deli counter need to take a class in customer service. Because of these 2 incidents, I will never shop her again which is a shame since I like their foods, but won't subject myself to the rudeness of...
Read moreI have been shopping here many years and mostly treated very pleasantly with the occasional rude associate. But thats every where. My problem is not with the way they are not operating under covid standards. The market is packed tight always with merchandise so no room to social distance. However, I work retail and know how to keep myself and others I am in contact with safe so I don't have a problem shopping here. With that being said I did not have a pleasant experience on my latest visit. I just ran in to get some bakery for a visit with a friend that morning and excited about bringing something yummy. However, the 2 cashiers I was in contact with were very rude not only to me but others as well. Maybe they can't handle being there during the pandemic and shouldn't be with that level of service they are giving. There is definitely a way to say things to the customer and a way not to. They do not know the difference. I left there feeling disappointed and it took a little bit to shake off that...
