This review is regarding the emergency department. Very disappointed. I brought my mom here because she is experiencing mental health issues related to anxiety and paranoia due to medication side effects and will need to be admitted to a mental health facility. I brought her her to the emergency room to start the process. While in the ER she tested positive for covid which was a shock because she had no symptoms. We were never informed her test results came back positive. I was in the room with her all night and nobody had the curtesy of letting me know. I only found out when I was told to put a mask on because my mom has covid that was one whole day after they found out and they only told me because I was in the hall without a mask. I was there over 2 days which is fine but I am appalled that nobody provided me any updates on why we were waiting. All it would have taken was five minutes to explain they were having trouble finding available rooms in the psych ward and that my mother has covid. Instead I waited all night in mystery. I had to ask myself the next day to find any information. I had to give my mom her medication myself and no nurses asked or helped. I asked a nurse to change her bandage because she had old cuts on her wrist and he gave me the material to do it ourselves instead of just helping. On top of it they finally told me they found a room and would transport my mom to metro main campus the next morning. The nurse reassured me they would keep her here and she wouldn’t go to main campus until they found an available room. I felt comfortable enough leaving my mom for the night to get some sleep until the next morning. As soon as I left they decided they were not waiting the next morning they were going to transfer her to metro main campus that night (after I left). You cannot just change plans like that for an already overly anxious person. Nobody called to tell me they were doing that. They said there were no available nurses to watch her room, but there were PLENTY when I was there 2 hours prior to leaving. I would have never left if I knew they would do that. They just did not want to watch her. When transferring my mom to metro main campus they had to put her in the emergency room again but this time they put her in a suicide room it’s dark and scary with no tv or windows. People are screaming and scary. My mom feels terrified and is in now way worse condition than before I brought her in. Because She is mixed with a range of behavioral people there. why would you guys just not leave her at Parma where she was comfortable until there was an available room at the section she is supposed to be in. It seemed like everybody really lacked any sort of empathy. Do not go to the emergency room if you if your family is having mental...
Read moreI had a terrible, disappointing , frustrating experience with their Billing Department. On June 06, 2021 I received a bill from the RECEIVABLES OUTSOURCING, LLC for collections by THE METROHEALTH SYSTEM in the amount of $30.00. The description says it is for the medical services rendered on January 20, 2020. What the hell, that was a year ago. So my first reaction was shocked, surprised and confused. That amount would matched the $30.00 co-pay, I thought. I immediately checked my account online and when I found nothing related to the bill, I emailed them. When I checked back, the day after, they posted my $30.00 balance. I called the Billing Department. I gave her my explanation. "That on January 20, 2020 when I had an appointment with my primary doctor I paid my $30.00 co-pay. You see, their registration office is at the lobby. You have to check in there first. That was what I did. I showed my insurance card when she asked and paid my $30.00 co pay IN CASH. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for a receipt. I trusted the lady. That was my mistake! Back to my telephone conversation with the billing department, which I explained my side. All she could say was "You have to pay the $30.00 because we need proof of payment, have a good day". She hung up. That was RUDE, NOT NICE! I was FRUSTRATED, DISAPPOINTED. The lady could have done something but nothing except to tell me to pay. I paid for the second time $30.00 co-pay. So it totaled $60.00. What an expensive co-pay! It pains me to know that they placed the 'uncollected bill' under the care of a collection agency without informing me first. I HATE THAT THIS HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me tell you, you DO NOT get to see your doctor if you don't show your insurance card and pay your co-pay. Lesson learned: Never pay for a co-pay without asking...
Read moreJosie at Registration is a real MVP!!! She really knows the Ins & Outs of not just her job but everything!
I called the eye department to get my eye prescription (so I could get contacts) and they told me they couldn't give it but I could get it printed out at the physical building. I went and Josie helped me out so much!
She told me that I could actually access it myself (really easily) on my MyChart (it even has it's own tab! You'd have to be blind to not see it (sorry couldn't help it))
She saw that my prescription was going to expire and in doing so informed me that it was an actual prescription (mind blown). So she offered to schedule me an eye appointment.
She ALSO informed me that if I wanted contacts I had to get a seperate eye exam or something (which I also didn't know about 😅 but makes total sense), and to make sure I told the doctor at my appointment.
I know this was long winded and too detailed, BUT Josie literally saved my so much time AND probably multiple hassles. Without Josie, I probably would've ordered contacts with my glasses measurements, realized I needed a new eye appointment when after my prescription expired and then by the time I would've called to make an appointment they would've been scheduling in next, next year.
Seriously, give this girl a raise!!! Josie doesn't just show up for her job, she DOES her job, and...
