Edit: After my initial review, the owner of the store has blocked me on Facebook so I cannot view any of their posts. Very petty. My reviews have been updated based on my interactions with the store owner and their responses. Rather unprofessional and a little odd that they would go through the trouble to find my social media considering I have never interacted with them on there. 🤷♀️ A negative review does not negate harassment and I have a right to update my review based on my interactions.
Stopped by for the first time today. The storefront looks a little old and outdated but the store is nice inside. They didn't have as big of a collection as I was expecting and they were a little overpriced with some of their older games. I did purchase something from the $1 bin and asked the employee of I could plug it in and just make sure it powers on. He told me it was in the bin because they didn't feel like testing it and I they wouldn't allow me to see if it powers before purchasing and that's the "gamble" and there is no refund. While in understand, I thought that was a little bit of a weird way to sell something. Luckily it did work except the left button on one controller does not work. The system and controllers were sold separately which was a little weird for something that was bundled together in the discount bin.
Update: Saw the reply. Prices are still slightly above price charting and it's still weird that I could not at least plug in the item to see if it powers. That's not a very big request, especially as a new customer.
Also just noticed the return policy on my printed receipt. The return policy is a little strange. It doesn't look like you can return much at all for an actual refund. Pretty much a gamble if you're buying anything I guess. Not super great...
Read moreThe store is fine, they have a lot of stuff and I have bought a few things there. However, I bought a GBA SP a few weeks ago, and when I played it, it would freeze after 20 minutes or so. I called in and told the guy who sold it to me that I was having that issue the day after purchase.
Admittedly, it took me a few weeks to get back to the store since I have been busy. When I explained the situation, the guy (not the one who sold it to me) was extremely skeptical. He said I needed a receipt, which I find odd, since they have some account system with my info and purchases on record.
The guy insisted the system was fine (although I didn't have the time to sit there for 20 minutes and wait for a game to freeze). He then said, "unfortunately, our return policy doesn't cover buyer's remorse", and "I'll give you to the end of the day to bring the receipt..." So, he sarcastically accused me of lying, then gave me an assignment like I work for him.
I actually found the receipt when I got home, but I would rather let them keep the $90 and simply take my business elsewhere (which is a shame since I would rather support a small business).
Overall, it's a decent store, but I refuse to give my money to anyone who would talk down to...
Read moreCustomer service was great! Only complaint is that they price match any trades with GameStop for some reason. Not sure what the point of being a local location is if you’re just going to price match with your competitor. They also were unable to provide me with an itemized list of how much the items were selling for. I sold a used but like new PS5, a PS3, 3 controllers & 13 games and only received $315 ($308 after fees bc we had to use paypal..) After looking online I saw that if I had taken the time to sell it online, I could’ve made double what they offered me. I don’t even think they paid me for the PS3 at this point lol! Save your time & go to gamestop if you can, at least they can provide you with an itemized list.
Edit: My point still stands. If the Dualshock controller was unable to be sold, why was I not made aware? An itemized list would have clarified that for me, but unfortunately you were unable to provide that. I was also unable to remove an item from the trade, despite knowing that 2 of the games were special editions and should have...
