After many, many years of soliciting Kabab Paradise, promoting the food and service among my friends and family, I had not just a bad but an insulting experience last night. It was such a miniscule issue for the restaurant to resolve, treating me in a condescending and insulting manner was needless and unacceptable.
I called in a pickup order for a falafel. I am not at all sure if I said "sandwich" or not yet the person who took the order also didn't ask if I wanted a sandwich or platter. So when I reached the restaurant there was a platter waiting. I first apologized for any confusion and restated my desire for a falafel sandwich. The person at the counter (Ali) pointed to the platter and very harshly said something along the lines of "what am I supposed to do with this, did you say sandwich, if not here is your platter". He further said I could go home and convert the platter into a sandwich myself. If that's the case, I can also pick up some tahini and/or hummus and yummy ready-made falafel balls from any grocery store and make it that way as well. That is what I'll do next time. Well, back to the restaurant scene and drama over sandwich vs falafel, after talking down to me for some time, Ali finally went in the back for a minute or two and came back with a falafel sandwich. Note it was the WORST falafel I've ever had in 35 years, slapped together in haste so I ultimately threw more than half of it out in the trash! I later unfortunately wondered if Ali had spit in my food, as he was so (unjustly) annoyed and rude.. uff. Give me a break and gain some perspective in (restaurant) life, Ali.
Dear Kabab Paradise owners, You all have always been very service-oriented and accommodating. I know you are thankfully growing so can't be everywhere all the time but please ensure the personnel you keep at your restaurants are equally as friendly and service-oriented as you otherwise your customers will run away. The word sandwich was repeated to me at least five times last night as if I am a moron and that's not cool. I am sure you remember me well as Becky, who really loves your white and green sauces. -Becky, the...
Read moreAbsolute atrocious customer service. There was a miscommunication with my order, I tried to call to inquire, the man who answered the phone Yunus or Yusuf? was not fit to speak to any customer or resolve anything. I ordered a dish that automatically comes with rice. It always has come with rice. It says “comes with rice.” There was a side question that asked if I wanted a salad so I clicked yes because they usually give small side salads with all their platters and I thought maybe to be more economical they are now asking if the customer even wants the side salad. To reduce waste or what not. So I clicked yes for what I thought was the side salad. When I got my meal I noted there was no rice at all, which always comes with this meal so I called and yunus was the rudest encounter I could have had. He said you clicked the option to replace the rice with a salad (ok so the ordering software was confusing bc I didn’t realize you had an option to replace a main ingredient (rice) in a platter …but even if that was the case, the “salad” that I apparently substituted for the rice was terrible- a few onions, two tomatoes and some bits of lettuce. Hardly worth $20. It was pathetic and I asked him why that salad was even acceptable to give. He was rude, abrasive and made a point to tell me he’s been working there for ten years- trivial information and not relevant to the conversation. I have been eating here since they first opened, since the mother herself did the cooking. The customer service is the worst part of this place. Tread with caution because if you have any issues with meal that you pay for, unlike other establishments that try to correct it , this place simply does not...
Read moreI've been a patron of here since its day one. The people here are good people but the lack of communications between the customers/workers/and kitchen is horrible.
Today I placed an order via the app at 6:30pm (app said it would be done by 7)
Got there and was told it'll take a couple more minutes to be done. No problem i thought. 30 minutes later I get told I'm up next. Another 30 minutes go by and the people on line behind me are leaving with food.
At this point I need to head home and so i walk up to talk to the front desk. I showed the order I made on the app and the workers didn't really understand what to do or even give me a status on the order.
I got three separate responses from 3 employees
"the order was picked up already" "it's being packed right now" "it is half done please wait a bit more"
I ended up canceling my order at the desk and the employee smirked and waved a goodbye to me and my family.
I understand these are busy and tough times. Things can get mixed up but at the end of the day the people there continuously shifted blame on one another and lied to me about being 'almost ready".for an hour and 20 minutes
I know bad days happen and this could have been just another off day but my last 4 experiences at this location have been disappointing from being removed from the restaurant mid meal for bigger parties to missing items . It seems the bigger this brand is getting in NJ the family oriented and customer service driven spirit is...
