LA Serena Apartments is the worst place to live. They don't care about your well-being or your living conditions at all. When I lived there, I paid my rent on time. I even paid it a week before it was due. But they didn't care about that; they decided to evict me in the worst possible way ever. My apartment got raided by the police. My door was completely destroyed, and my window was completely smashed because the police decided to throw a smoke bomb. Can you imagine the humiliation my wife and I felt when we were being taken out of our apartment like criminals? I didn't even get a chance to put my shoes on; I had to walk through broken glass to go outside where the police were waiting for us at gunpoint. Our neighbors were staring at us, recording us, while we wondered what the hell was going on because at this point, we didn't know what this was all about. And in the middle of all this chaos, while the police were searching the apartment looking for guns or bullets, I don't know what, but they I didn't find anything. I guess the managers decided to approach my wife and give us a 3-day eviction notice. Keep in mind this occurred on December 7, 2023 7 days after I paid my rent. I'm getting an eviction notice without cause. So after the police leave, I went to the office and asked why I was getting evicted. They started yelling at me, telling me that I was supposed to inform them within 15 days if somebody with a felony was living with me. My answer to that was that, to my knowledge, you're innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Their next argument was that I had put the lives of my neighbors at risk. My answer was that all the police had to do to get access to my house was to knock, which they didn't do. They said they didn't care, that they were going to file for an eviction after they were done filing for evictions for whoever hadn't paid the rent, and I'm like, well, I pay my rent. They said it didn't matter. So, do mind that my window is completely smashed. All they did to fix it, I guess, was cover it with a piece of plywood. Oh, and just wait, the way they fixed my door was by putting a piece of 2x2 wood on the inside and putting a little hatch lock on it, so I could lock it from the inside. But there was no possible way for me to lock my door from the outside. So what would happen when I had to go to work? My door would be completely open. They even called me one time to inform me that my dog had run out. Isn't it funny? The most curious part of all this was that on the same day, all of this happened, the office ladies came into my apartment without giving me any notice at all. I didn't get a phone call, a text nothing. The only reason why I found out that they went into my apartment was because my neighbor told me that the ladies were just in my apartment. To my surprise, they were still hanging around the apartment building, so I approached one of the ladies. And a new lady whom I had never met before acted as if she were my upstairs neighbor. She told me that she had a leak and complained about it to the office. She said that the office staff had to enter my apartment to check on the leak. However she was not actually my neighbor. I know my actual upstairs neighbor, and she was not the lady I encountered. The lady I encountered was a new employee in the apartment complex. Later that day my wife received a message stating that the work order we had supposedly submitted had already been completed. We never submitted any work order. I honestly was not planning on moving out of the apartments, especially since we had just paid our rent. Why should I be evicted if I'm a tenant who pays rent on time? However a whole week passed by and they still hadn't fixed my window or door and we had no security. It got to the point where I tried doing things the right way by going in there and telling them that I would move out, but that I needed them to refund the money I had paid for rent because I didn't stay the whole month they agreed to that and told me that depending on the damages but I haven't...
Read moreThis has been such an eye opener and I have met some people that I will forever be friends with. As far as the apartments they need work. Without a doubt!!!! I have not had running water in my kitchen since I moved in but I also have never encountered such a learning experience. I have let go of toxicity and also found some special souls. Endearing people that I would treat like family. Thank you Julie....you have brought light in this complex just by the energy you portray. You deserve a raise first and foremost. I can honestly say she is a woman with wisdom and a heart of gold. Maria thank you for putting up with my nonsense....you have been honest as well as harsh but I have nothing but respect for you. Give these woman raises and thank them for their time. Time is something we never get back and being mindful in everyway is essential in this world. I have never been so humiliated and enlightened simultaneously. I got your back Julie and you deserve not only a raise but a promotion as well. As far as the maintenance thank you for listening to me but please come fix my sink. I got rid of the Beast and found Beauty again. He should feel lucky he even was able to experience half of what I have and this ah* owes everyone a personal apology as well as a kick in the Head with a side of crackers lol. WE MUST CHOOSE OUR WORDS WISELY BECAUSE THE TABLE WILL TURN! Thank you for leaving the property and remember treat others like you want to be treated. Never know who may be listening or who you overlook because of self loathing. Now that I cleared the air.....let's keep moving. No time for being stagnant. That goes for our environment as well as our neighbors. Respect must be earned and the apartments need a makeover. Let's go CRAZY and pick up others trash incase they accidently dropped it. We are all people and we all deserve to be treated fairly. This is all said with respect and loyalty. Thank you to the people that have truly been REAL....it is hard to come by these days. La Serena has extreme potential but it will take a team to see a change!!! Work together ALWAYS and smile at your neighbor for no reason....a smile can go a long way. Thank you 😊...
Read moreJust a bad place to be, within the first week of moving in everything started to fall apart it felt like I had to request maintenance on the daily, took them about a month in a half just to come and fix my AC while it was 100 degrees outside atm. Someone got shot in front of my complex and cops made a whole crime scene and this is about the 3rd time someone has either been shot/or took out a gun, happens frequently. They don’t distribute mail correctly or are tampering with it, I’ve had multiple packages be left at the office and every time I’d go to ask they would only tell me they sent the mail person away like ??? Majority of my neighbors have the same trouble. The list could go on and on, but to pay so much and not even feel safe in my so called ‘home’ or even just having trouble alone to get my own mail, is not worth another year here, the list truly could...
