My boyfriend bought a ring for me from an online retailer. When we had initially got the ring the gem had fallen out and we took it to Sanders to get re-set. They did a fine job, re-set the ring fine. However after wearing the ring frequently the gem eventually came loose again. We came back again to get it re-set and they basically ruined my ring.
My ring had an oxidized finish giving the silver a black shadow on some parts. We had asked them both times to not polish/clean it because we did not want to remove this finish. The second time we had the gem re-set they polished it even with us asking them not too removing all of the oxidized finish.
Also during the second time we had the ring re-set they had decided to glue the ring in place. This would not have been a problem normally but they did a horrible job gluing the gem in place, with visible glue marks all around the edges of the ring, as well the glue marks/strings being visible through the gem itself especially while itās worn.
When my boyfriend noticed these issues when he had initially picked up the ring he brought them up with the attendant that gave it it him and they VEHEMENTLY denied that the ring was glued or polished and basically refused him any sort of service afterward.
After contacting the owner of the company to report these issues we were promised that the ring could be re-oxidized. I went with him this time to drop the ring off the attendants were horribly rude to the both of us. As we walked into the building one of the attendants scoffed at us, recognizing my boyfriends face and rolling her eyes before asking how she could help us. As I started explaining what was wrong with my ring she repeatedly interrupted me and belittled me brushing off my concerns. Another attendant also interjected saying theyāve NEVER glued rings in place and that we arenāt seeing things correctly.
The first attendant then went back and talked to the jeweler who confirmed the ring was glued saying that was standard procedure, even though that was not done at all the first time we had it re-set here. She then went back a second time to talk to the jeweler and came back quoting āI donāt understand what heās saying. Thereās a communication barrier I can no longer help you.ā Rather than continuing to help me she passed me onto another attendant that was not familiar with my situation or concerns.
That brings us to today where I have picked up my ring after it was supposed to be oxidized again. However it looks more like is was rubbed in dirt and left to sit for a few days. The work is patchy, and not even all over the ring, only the top area next to the gem. Iām extremely unhappy with its appearance.
The staff in this facility have NO CLUE whatās going on or what the jeweler is doing. And the jeweler has gone completely rouge and does not follow directions when handling other peopleās property. We will NEVER be using this place again for any jewelry needs and now have to find another place to repolish and reoxidize the ring properly to make up for the mess...

The quality of merchandise sold here is even at the lowest level gorgeous! The environment is above average and very welcoming! My favorite part is the staff! Sanders Diamond Jewlers goes out of there way to make you feel welcome, at home, and offers 0 pressure at all. Their willingness to go above and beyond to inform you, guide you, and just treat you right is by far among the absolute best of customer service providers that I have ever encountered! I will keep my business here based on that alone. Since I first walked into this fine establishment I have always been treated with kindness and understanding even when I wasn't in the best of circumstances. I want to point out also that you are always still family and treated with respect even after the sale is completed. Servicing, appraising, and all other general needs are met with the same composure and professionalism as the big sale! The family environment and team here far exceeds all expectations of what anyone should expect from a professional jeweler! Keep it up Sanders!
