Souper Salad — Local services in Pasadena

On a business trip & Had a nostalgic moment from college when we could fill up on healthy food for a reasonable price! I wanted salad, saw this place and ear marked it to circle back the next day. The service was friendly and fast - mostly self serve but the cashier is at the entrance to collect payment first thing upon entry before making your entree choices. My male waiter was fast, attentive, and friendly. He brought my drink order right away & whisked away my tray and soup bowl when he saw they were empty. The menu has expanded since I’ve seen a Souper Salad. They have a full self served opened buffet style salad bar & soup bar. They also now have a taco bat, potato bar, dessert bar, and pizza. I had the salad 🥗 and soup. Why is the vegetable soup sweet? I also tried the gingerbread squares I remembered from back in the day. The soft, melt in your mouth individually cut cake squares are now square muffins that were either out too long or overbaked. I only took a bite before concluding the extra calories weren’t worth an extra bite. A nice alternative for the many options out there that are nutritionally worse. Fresh, convenient, still budget friendly and good service. Clean restaurant. Food options stay fully stocked with the hot items hot and the chilled items fresh from what I could tell. This is the 2nd time I've had a bad experience w/the CASHIER (short short hair) 1st encounter she had an attitude & snatched the money out of my hand as I handed it to her. I asked her was she ok cause she seemed to be in a bad mood. Talked to the Supervisor & she said the cashier said i shoved my money in her face. I told the Supervisor to play back & check the cameras & she will see that didn't happened... Supervisor says cameras don't work but she'll talk to her. 2nd encounter after eating we were leaving, but my grandson wanted ice cream. As he's walking out my grandson see's the cashier "looking @ him" as she's talking to the waitress asking the waitress "how much did they tip" cause she wanted to know how cheap we were. He got into the truck & said the cashier was talking about y'all. I know it's hard hiring good help but You should get those camera's working... just to know what's going on with your business & employee's at all times. Little comments like that...

Stumbled upon this place by accident and was pretty happy that I did! When you first walk in, you pay at the register and all of the salads and soups that they have are all you can eat!

They have some salads that are already prepared (today's special was a Greek Salad) or you can just make your own. There's lots of fresh vegetables and pasta salads to choose from on the bar. There's also a soup area that had at least 5 soups to choose from as well as a taco bar, baked potato bar and a bread area. The service was also fantastic!

If I have one thing to nitpick about it would be the lack of room between tables to get back up to the bar. It seems that every inch of space in the place was filled with tables (understandable since they are so busy) and it just made mobility very hard.

Overall a great, affordable, fresh and friendly...
