Every year we stop in at Krause's for Valentine's Day, Easter, and Mother's Day candy. We've never been disappointed with taste, quality, or variety of their scrumptious offerings. Today was no exceptiion.Since Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday share the same day this year, we will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Tuesday, and going to Mass on Wednesday this year. We shopped on Monday to beat the crowd. The store smells like chocolate, and was busy. But, as usual, Krause's had at least 6 workers, and an organized agenda, to get you through the small crowd. Between the entrance and the counter there are cute holiday lollipops. We picked up a few for the grandkids. Their display offers milk and dark chocolate pieces and creations. They also have a large variety of sugar-free candy. Today I noticed a gluten-free sign also. We ordered 2 boxes of chocolate covered, hand-dipped,strawberries. While waiting for the boxes to be filled, the friendly server boxed up our sugar-free pieces. I asked for one piece of regular chocolate marshmallow to eat on the way home. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made the mistake of thinking Hanna Krause in Paramus was the same as this place. It was many moons ago but the chocolate is completely different. Paramus store chocolate sucks! Plus the prices are outrageous. I paid 76$ for 12 chocolate covered strawberries. They are very slick. They charge by the ounce so what they do is they make the chocolate on the strawberries SUPER thick. This is to rob you blind and it totally make the strawberries undesirable. Now Krauseās in Paterson has very fair prices and much higher quality chocolate. 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries was 59$. I donāt get them but the customer in front of me did. I have purchased them in the past and they were perfect. The staff is much friendlier at this location as well. The only reason I went to the Paramus store was that there was a ton of traffic and I was closer to the Paramus store....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been buying chocolate from krause's for over 20 years, and have never had a problem. Yesterday I stopped in and picked up several items one of them being dark chocolate pecan bark. When I ate it yesterday afternoon it did not taste right it had a perfume after taste, I called the store and was told to call back tomorrow and speak to the manager. I called today and spoke with the manager she asked me to bring it back which I did. Their response was they tasted their own product that was in the store and it was fine, I stated that maybe but mine was not, their solution was to give me a small piece of almond chocolate instead but not the same amount that I purchased. Had I known they weren't going to do anything to rectify the problem I would not have wasted an hour of my time driving back and forth. They have...
