Very disappointed in my recent dry cleaning experience. On July 24th, I picked up a vintage coat that had been dry cleaned, and I noticed that the center of one of the buttons was missing. Getting no place with the counter help upon pick-up, I was advised to call back when "someone else" was on duty. I made three more calls within the next two days, and each time I was informed, "that person" had just left or they didn't know when they'd return. I asked very politely if they could look around on the floor for the missing button center (it must be there somewhere, right?) and after a lot of hedging, I was informed that they no longer perform in-house dry cleaning, and that my coat was sent out someplace else. I then inquired if they could contact that establishment to see if the piece had been found there. I received a lot of stammering and push back (I got the impression that this would be WAAAY too much trouble). So, I asked if I could have the phone number and I would call to ask. "Nope. I'll take your phone number and have them call YOU back". I knew I would never receive a callback from anyone when I hung up -- and as of this date I have not. The person who took my final call was surly and condescending, speaking to me like I had no claim to ask for the missing piece, for that vintage button that cannot be replaced. It was even suggested by a voice in the background that they COULD sew new buttons on my coat for me, AS IF this would rectify the situation somehow (and likely there would have been yet another charge). They had absolutely no regard for my reasonable request, therefore I will NEVER return to The Clothes Basket for any reason. I might add to another person's critique, that it seemed overpriced for the item I had cleaned. Apparently, one has to also pay the "middle man" for outsourcing garments. It could have been an easy solution, but for the negligence and careless attitude of this...
Read moreI want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff at The Clothes Basket Laundromat in Paw Paw for their kindness and care toward my 93-year-old father, Alonzo Sparks. Your patience, respect, and genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed. It means the world to know that in todayâs busy world, there are still places where people treat our elders with dignity and compassion.
Thank you for making his experience feel safe, supported, and valued. Paw Paw is lucky to have a business like yours where clean clothes come with warm hearts. ~Monica Sparks &...
Read moreI called to ask about hours of operation on a holiday and got an attitude from one of the staff. I work overnight and it's not easy for me to find time during my sleep hours to go to the laundromat. It's pretty pricey here too. Good in a pinch but not the best. It's the closest one to my home but I'd rather drive a little further to get better pricing and less interactions...
