Sun Valley Barn — Local services in Pella

Not sure why we wasted time looking at other places after touring Sun Valley, we did, and couldn't wait to get back to Angie to confirm our date. This venue had everything that they wanted for their special day. The venue, itself, is beautiful!! The bridal suite is large and comfortable, with a private bathroom and a coded locking entrance door. The grooms room is great for the guys! The loft is very cool with a great view of the main floor, the railing has a tilted top, making leaning against it comfortable. It is decorated so beautifully that we only had a few of our own to add besides the table decorations. The guest bathrooms are large, which means, your guest won't miss much because of "waiting in the bathroom line". Angie was always available for questions or help if needed. Sun Valley felt warm and inviting to us and our guests, many of them commented how beautiful it was. My daughter and her husband choose to have the ceremony inside, never outguess the weather, the sliding doors were closed after the wedding party came in and then opened to reveal the beautiful bride!! Breathtaking........I can't stress enough how wonderful this place is and Angie and her team are making it run flawlessly. Was supposed to have our wedding here- due to covid was unable to do so. The owners were not open about plans moving forward due to covid. They told us one thing, but did another. Terrible communication and straight up liars. They told us we could get a full refund due to covid, so we informed vendors and guests it was cancelled. Then a week later they came back saying we would only get back 2,000 of the 4,500 paid. Despite having emails stating they would refund the money, the owner would not acknowledge it. It was a huge battle just to get the 2,000. It is pretty low to lead people on the way these people did. Whatever you do, do not get married here! We loved having our wedding reception at Sun Valley Barn. It was beautiful, spacious and accommodating. Anytime we reached out to the staff, we got a response within a day or so - they were very responsive the week of the wedding.

Our goal was to find a venue that didn't need a ton of added decor to make it look great and Sun Valley Barn did that perfectly. Our florist and decorator were able to get into the venue the morning of our wedding and make it look absolutely stunning.

Another thing we loved about the venue was how private and tucked away it was. There was plenty of room for parking for our guests, it was very accessible for people who needed it to be.
