No one expects to “negotiate” prices at a retail store. However, Antique Malls are different sometimes. There are rules and procedures for the transaction. Sometimes these are fixed. Sometimes negotiable. IMHO any buyer in an Antique store who does not test the quoted prices could be paying a premium. This process is a delicate dance. But certainly not unusual. Of course the seller wants a premium. Of course the buyer wants a discount. Being so motivated does not make them bad people. In fact my experience that is considerable is that the negotiation is the most fun part of the whole deal. So today I arrive at the Blue Moon close to closing time. Find a nice camera. And I would like to make an offer on it. Lisa, the owner, declines. The camera is in fact priced at a premium. I know my cameras. Still I am able and willing to make a fair offer. But Lisa wants no part of it. So instead of picking up the phone and asking the seller his best price, she shuts me down. That is unfortunate. Because with just a tiny bit of customer care, the seller could have earned $200.00., Instead the seller gets zero dollars and the worst possible consequence is that Lisa losses a customer. So that’s what happened. The next time anyone walks in the door with $200 dollars could be Christmas. Or maybe not. Bottom line is the transaction didn’t happen. Bottom line is that Lisa showed me the door. Bottom line is that Lisa called her next door neighbor to forewarn them that a terrible buyer was in the neighborhood. Can you believe it? What is supposed to happen is that when you leave either as a buyer or a seller you’re supposed to feel good about the deal. Or at least that it was fair. Lisa lost me as a customer and a very good one at that. But she doesn’t care about me as a buyer. Only about keeping her Sellers’s happy. Not much chance to negotiate here. But I don’t care. I...
Read moreAsked for simple thing to call booth renter about memorial flags to see if they would take less. She was very rude and snappy. Been coming here since we moved. Never again. Don't be rude to people.
Since it won't let me reply had to edit.
I was actually talking to him to begin with on would he take less. And you intruded. I said nicely can you please call. And you kept repeating 10%. I know what a antique store is thank you i use to have a booth in Chilton County. ( And the one down the street had no problem calling). Had the owner known my intentions with said memorial flags he probably would have worked with me. These flags are special and are burial flags. And would have been given back to a soldier.
Wow. I honestly think you have lost your mind. I didn't ask him maybe twice since you interrupted me talking to him. And to go as far as saying as woman you should know no means no. You have truly no customer service. O my. Someone called you a thrift store that's horrible. Karen o karen. Those flags have been there for a long time and after so long and seeing those flags sitting in a booth you would think he might be willing. American burial flags do need to be returned to the VA. How is what I did rude to you. It was a conversation that you wasn't apart of. I also see where others complained about your wretched attitude also. There is no sense in being so rude over a AMERICAN Flag. Would it have actually harmed you to call. No ma'am it wouldn't have. Furthermore, honestly I think you should be kinder to people. You don't know what someone else has been thru, and a nasty attitude over a flag is wrong. I hold a special place in my heart for those that keep this place safe and...
Read moreI bought an original Nintendo NES and it said it was tested, i brought home and tested it and it didn’t work. So i emailed the vendor before going up to Blue Moon and all they said was basically “they couldn’t do anything about it” and what not to do. So today i went up to the Blue Moon antique mall and we brought the NES with us. I came up there not expecting much but expecting at least some sort of help on what do to. When i went to the front counter i was greeted with complete and utter rudeness. The lady that was working at the front desk (we didn't get her name, Im pretty sure she had red hair) she had a disrespectful unexpected attitude that you should not treat your costumers with. Her attitude was extremely uncalled for, I will not be shopping here again because of how i was treated. I came there just for a bit of closure and instead I got completely disrespected. The owner responded to me, I AM THE SON, i said it worked for like a day and that ONE DAY was whenever we bought it. We were never a bully, rude, or disrespectful. We had a nice attitude and were understanding. If we were bullies we would’ve done something about it, but instead we just walked out of the store and left you alone. The only person who was a liar was you and the vendor. If you're serious about your job you need to...
