Decent arcade, but could be much better.
It has a solid selection of games plus bowling and putt putt golf. If you’re in Sandusky on a rainy day or want to kill some time in the evening it is a decent spot. Prices are high, but like any other arcade in a tourist area or a Dave&Busters.
My biggest issue is as new as it is, the games should work better. Numerous broken and make sure you read the rules, many of the coin pushers don’t give nearly the amount of tickets they are supposed to. That’s just bad business and a sign of poor techs.
The workers were friendly enough and were quick to add a couple free swipes when we pointed out issues on games, but chasing someone down as often as we had to is a bit of a pain. They clearly need a better preventive maintenance program for their machines to make sure the system is as fair as it can be. As it is it just gives off vibes that the owners/techs don’t care.
We will go back, but will continue to watch what we play and hope it improves.
EDIT: to reply to response from Arcade. I appreciate the response, but my play card number won’t help. It wasn’t so much of an issue with the swipe not working, although there were a few times it didn’t. The issue is more with the game sensors/readers. For instance, the sticker on the coin pushers (at least some) say it is supposed to be 30 tickets I believe per coin. We would sometimes drop several coins and maybe get 30 or 60 tickets. That’s a calibration issue and something that should have been dialed in...
Read moreProbably the worst arcade in Sandusky by far. Pricing is outrageous, and even with the specials, it costs way more to game here than at Castaway Bay or even Kalahari. The game selection is extremely lackluster as well for such a large space they have.
They also do not fix machines at all. Jurassic Park Pinball has been broken since day one. I let the staff know, but was told they don't keep anyone on staff to fix pinball. The left ramp doesn't register when you hit it, making the game completely unplayable as it is not completable in its current state. If you are a Stern Insider, only Rush pinball has this option enabled for some reason, and doesn't even have the correct location, listing it as "Magnolia Mall" and not Sandusky.
I was so excited to have a new arcade in town geared towards locals, but this just isn't it at all. Drive to Westlake and go to Dave and Busters, much better value to be had there, and all the games actually work.
UPDATE: April 2025, and still, Pinball doesn't function properly. Looks like someone just turned the volume up on the machines, but didn't bother to do actual maintenance on them. Still waiting for the day these can work properly, been about 4 months now and they haven't worked...
Read more$20 got us about 45 minutes of entertainment. I liked that it wasn't too busy. Waaayy better than Kalahari. Prizes weren't too bad and ladies working the counter are friendly and patient. We had trouble syncing a couple of the games to 2 players. Scanned the card for both players but only one worked. This happened twice for us each at two different games. Not sure if it stole our credits, but the card did confirm scanned? Good selection of games, not just a bunch of claw machines. Games actually last a while too. Like, you can even move on to different levels on some games and it seems like modern arcades never do that anymore. We didn't try the pinball, but hope to try...
