Typically we have a good experience at every Cracker Barrel we go to. This time not so much. We went out to celebrate a 16th Birthday and a graduation. We called about 45 min. ahead to tell them we had 16 people coming from New London. When we arrived it was busy as expected and the tables were not ready. We waited no big deal. It got to the point that I had to keep tracking down the staff to get our tables ready because we had 2 fragile people who had a harder time standing for long periods of time, finally I went and told everyone to just go sit down at the tables that were (half ready) after almost 20 minutes. When the waitresses came out they were friendly and explained how the Bill's would work at the end how they would split it up. The kids got waited on first and there were 7 of them. They got their food and all was well. Then our waitress came and took our orders and drinks. Drinks came out and the coke was nasty. We figured they needed to change the syrup and she admitted it needed changed and then brought 3 new cokes to our table. We had already placed our order and the kids were munching away on their food. The adults entertained themselves telling stories and enjoying each others company. The first 5 meals came up and everyone seemed to enjoy their food but the cornbread and biscuits were not up yet No big deal. The other 4 of us sat and waited. We waited and waited some more. 20 min must have gone by without our food. The waitress refilled our drinks and we asked where our food was. She said the last meatloaf was served to someone at our table...were like "okay then just give us xyz". Anyway I didn't get the meatloaf or xyz and my food wasn't out...I went and got the manager. I explained everything and said I too have waited tables and this was unacceptable. It was going on 45 min and still no food of any kind for the 4 of us waiting at the same adult table. He said he would go see. Our food came out wrong, overcooked and super late. Needless to say we were not very happy. We were hangry as they say lol. The manager gave us the 4 meals free but we didn't even eat it because it was so bad. At the end of the night the 16 year old got her cake and ice cream and we all left well with a less than...
Read moreSo first off, I have been eating at Cracker Barrel restaurants all over the country for the last 15 years. I travel less frequently now, but until today was always a great place to eat. I expected and recieved good food and good service. That being said, today was just awful. I think the waitress tried, but they were under staffed and according to the manager, unprepared. Things started off ok, but then it took about an hour to get our food. We watched smaller parties, we had a group of 6, come in, order, and get their food while we did not get ours. When it finally came.....just eew. The gravy was crusted over goo....so ok stir it up right? Still yuck. No flavor, barely warm, and as I said crusty. My well done, scrambled eggs with cheese were a slab of nit so done eggs with a slice of cheese melted on top. ???. The poached eggs were so not cooked, barely at all. The other set of poached eggs never came, instead a runny, somewhat raw version of scrambled eggs was delivered, not the cheese ones. The pancakes were overdone and so smothered with syrupy stuff I had to put my 5 year olds' pancake on a different plate to keep him from getting covered in syrup. It literally sloshed off of the plate when it was placed on the table. Apparently the hash stuff was good though. The biscuits were bland. So many more things were just wrong! We spoke with the manager who was pulling double duty as cook. She was obviously offended by our complaints, but she took care of 100% of the bill. Ok , that's nice but we were about to start a two day drive home and were just delayed by a horribly long wait force horrible breakfast. We picked up a snack on our way out of town since not much of the food was edible. I was very disappointed with your Sandusky, Ohio location on Milan. The managers' attitude was unacceptable. She blamed the rain for being unprepared for the influx of people and the waitress for the mix ups. No way! That was mostly poor cooking, organization, and timing, but it was the manager cooking and training a new cook. Plan better. Cook better. If this had been my first experience, it would...
Read moreWe went to this location in June 2024. We had a party of 8 and a bill of $130 BEFORE TIP. Our experience was terrible. We never got biscuits after asking nicely multiple times. Every table around us had bread but we never got any at all. We were told many excuses it's cooking, the cook dropped them on floor and has to make more, sorry it takes almost an hour to make the bread, etc. We waited an hour on our food which was all messed up. When we asked about our missing food we were told they were out. Which was OK had we been told BEFORE we waited an hour for it. Anyways I paid my tab and we left. I called the manager the next morning he apologized graciously and said he would mail us "Gold Card" to compensate our meals and our experience. I was completely fine with this. Week goes by and I recieved nothing so again I am patient and kind so I continue to wait. After 3 weeks I call and just gave a friendly reminder and this time was a different manager, this was a lady. She was aware of thus situation and said she would speak with the gentleman and have cards sent, and then would call me back. Again, 2 weeks goes by and I have to call them back. The same lady apologized again and said she thought the had been sent and promised she would personally send them. Ok fast forward to 2 MONTHS after the situation I finally recieved a gold card for 2 meals. I am 100% appreciative of the 2 meals but this took 2 months and me having be the one to continue to call to get TWO MEALS OF EIGHT messed up meals? I respectfully responded to the number again and asked if that was correct, if they meant to only send 1 card for 2 meals for all of thus Hassel and of no surprise at month #3 I have not recieved a response. This all could have been easily prevented with proper service and...
