I absolutely love Aldiās new Lima location on Harding Hwy. Itās conveniently located by both Chiefs grocery store & Walmart. Not that I go to Walmart much any more, now thatās Aldiās opened.
Aldiās has such a wide variety of groceries & home goods. Actually, they have a bit of everything & something for everyone I feel. That said, youāre sure to find what you need at a much better price then Walmartās.
A few items I find myself going to Aldiās for nearly weekly now are, Mochi ice cream treats. I especially love the mango flavored ones, although the strawberry are quite good as well. Iām not big on green tea flavored anything, but thatās available as well.
I also love the Mediterranean marinated chicken kabobs. Itās raw chicken, not some over-cooked, over-processed chicken like Iāve found at other stores. They keep them frozen so all you need to do is pop them in your fridge to thaw, then cook them. They take less than 10mins too. So fast, so flavorful. They sell them in one pound pks, each contains 4 kabobs. Iād say you should make at least 3 pr person. But for less than $5 a box, everyone can afford to make extra.
Lastly, is an item I normally wouldnāt suggest, or have even tried. As I usually steer clear of box dinner kits. However, a dear friend of mine makes them all the time & her husband & picky eater child both gobble it up. So I gave it a whirl, and boy oh boy, Iām glad I did. Itās the Reggano, Cheesy Skillet Dinner Kit, Creamy Beef Stroganoff variety. Itās a kit you just add hamburger, milk and water too. So simple. But unlike hamburger helper kits, this kit has a seasoning packet you add to the meat, as well as a large packet of liquid cheese & sauce. Itās really delicious, I add a small onion, as well as a small can of mushrooms. But Iāve had it without adding anything, and itās just as delicious. I also stir in a bit of extra sour cream sometimes, just because itās sour cream & itās always welcome.
Aldiās has a huge selection of fresh fruit & vegetables as well. I add this just because I refuse to buy fruit or veggies at Walmart anymore. They simply go bad, from there, too quickly. I donāt know why Walmart veggies & fruits seem to go bad within a day or to. Whereas, when I purchase them elsewhere, theyāre good for at least a week. I just got so tired of having to turn back around and buy more produce, just because I made the mistake of thinking it would be okay to buy it from Walmart.
Now that Iāve written a book about how wonderful Aldiās selection is, and it is. I just wanted to mention that their prices are super low too. So rather or not your budget needs a boost, shopping at Aldiās will give it one. Iāve shaved, an average of $100 from my monthly grocery budget, and thatās for our small...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had heard of Aldi's but had a chance to go. since they built the new one my side of town. I visited there last night. The cashier I had was so nice sweet and helpful. I found most of the stuff I was looking for at a way better price than I would have at Walmart. I usually don't buy too many off-brand items but after talking to some people at work I will try them at the store. The fruit and produce was comparable and in some cases better then my regular box store. The meat looks really good. I will write another review once I have used everything I bought to see if the off-brand here are as good as everyone is saying. Now I wish I would have...
