My mom and I recently visited Gathering Volumes to get a gift for someone. She purchased a hard cover Bible book but couldn't actually see what is was about because it was plastic wrapped. The lady working tried to find more information on it but couldn't. We then asked her if it was returnable if it wasn't what we wanted and were told yes we could. So my mom went ahead made the purchase took it home and reviewed it. As soon as it was opened she knew it was definitely not the gift she was looking for. Went in today to return it and the owner told my mom she couldn't because the plastic wrapper had been taken off???? After some back and forth discussion my mom asked if she could sell it back and was told, yes for 15% of the value! First of all, how are you supposed to know if you want a book sight unseen? I mean isn't that the whole idea, being able to browse through a bookstore, skimming through the endless possibilities?? Secondly if we were told it could be returned and they allow books to be retuned, how is this one any different?? They definitely lied right to our faces when my mom made her purchase by telling her she could return it if it wasn't what she wanted. I can say this with all honesty because there were Two of us there when she said it. Very poor and unclear return policy, owner says books can be returned no where did anyone or anything say books that are plastic wrapped cannot, in fact as stated above she was...
Read moreGathering Volumes is one of those perfect little gems, small independent and locally owned, that are nestled into a nice city that you read about in our little book adventures or see on television. Gathering Volumes is my favorite place to frequent to add to my addiction of books. A wonderful couple owns and run it and they are always there to greet you with a warm smile, a friendly hello, and a great recommendation for a book. I always walk out of there with something and if you can't find it they will order it for you. What else is great about the store is they support the local authors, local artist, and other local independent shops in the area. They have story time for children, quite a few book clubs for kids and adults, game nights for adults such as cards or trivia games, and many book release parties and signings for local authors. If you are in the Perrysburg, OH area stop in and see Denise and Brian and let them help you find a new book to add to...

Gathering Volumes in Perrysburg is kind of a hot mess—in the best possible way. The place is absolutely packed with good books, almost to the point of sensory overload. If you're like me and a little prone to anxiety when faced with too many choices in a small space, prepare yourself!
That said, the real gem here is the lady running the place. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about books. Whether you're looking for something specific or just want to be pointed in the right direction, she's got you covered with smart, thoughtful recommendations.
It’s cozy, chaotic, and full of heart—definitely worth a visit if you love books and don’t mind navigating a little...
