I don’t particularly complain about customer service at stores and restaurants but this was terrible! I left my phone in the cart I was using and realized not even a minute after and I came back to find the cart and it was gone (which tells me they didn’t clean the carts after they are returned as they are supposed to be) I went to a supervisor to ask if they could help and before even finishing my question about if he saw a phone he cut me off and goes “DID YOU CHECK THE DESK” and when I explained I didn’t understand he just pointed over to the cigarette counter , I brushed off the rude response but when I asked the attendant at the desk he did the same thing and cut me off before I finished asking if he saw a phone with my specific case “NOPE” I returned to the first supervisor and said they hadn’t seen it and he just threw up his hands and said “there’s nothing I can do about it, come back tomorrow morning” I spent another hour in there searching for it before I eventually found it laying in the cart that by this point had to have changed hands twice since I first asked. Very upset and disappointed as a former giant eagle employee myself I would never let something like this go and just say “there’s nothing I can...
Read moreThe worst, fail to staff to acceptable levels. Direct all check out efforts to self check out, which inevitably get backed up because an 87 year old woman is unable to figure out how to look up a produce code as she tries to check out 3 pears and a donut. Meanwhile, woman with children with enormous shopping cart also tries her hand at self check out because the three aisles with an actual employee working the register have long lines and then gets frustrated as belt gets backed up all the way to scanner and needs to stop checking out groceries to start bagging her groceries, clear off the belt and finish scanning the remaining items. Another person breaks down the self checkout process as they make the bold decision to try their hand at purchasing a gift card through the self checkout line. This situation makes all patrons aggravated because whether you decide to do a check out with an employee or do self checkout, you will be in long line with poor service. The good news is Giant Eagle saves about $23 an hour by not adding two extra employees...
Read moreI had a very disappointing bakery experience yesterday 6/8/19. I ordered 30 soccer ball cookies for my grandson's soccer skills class. The cookies were still wet when I picked them up..after several hours they still were not dry. I proceeded to put them on drying racks overnight hoping they would be dry by this morning so that I could bag them for the kids. They were not dry. I paid $45.00 for cookies that are a mess. The black icing is all over the white and looks terrible. I have pictures to show this. I also had black icing all over my hands by the time I was done. If you are not capable of making iced decorated cookies then I should have been told this. I paid a lot of money for messy cookies. Not...
