Dined in yesterday for Mother’s Day and our experience was beyond disappointing to say the least. After being seated our server arrived at our table and before we even finished ordering our drinks she had to walk away as she wasn’t feeling well. After about 5 minutes another server comes over to say she will help her out and takes our drink order. After about another 10 minutes original server returns saying she is leaving so about 10 minutes goes by new server comes over to say she will now be taking care of us. After being seated for 35 minutes we finally get our drinks. All of this while the manager was standing around chatting w customers at the bar the entire time and did not bother to help at all. I completely understand someone not feeling well, stuff happens & none of us complained to any of the staff. Our poor server was at the other end of the restaurant so she had a lot of running to do back & forth. Now either our food sat for awhile (probably because the server had tables at the complete opposite end of the restaurant) or they just serve cold food. After eating our cold meal we ordered dessert and another round of drinks. Dessert came with only one utensil for 3 people so we had to go find some ourselves that took about another 10 minutes. After our dessert is basically gone our drinks arrived. We paid our check with a credit card and before the server even returns with our credit card we are told by the hostess (young man dark hair) that we need to leave as other people are waiting for our table! So not one apology for taking 35 minutes just to get us a glass of wine and waters (while the mgr stands around watching) cold food, not enough utensils to even start to eat our dessert, then you tell us to get out! We still didn’t bother to complain because obviously the mgr could’ve cared less but I’ll definitely NEVER return and will never recommend this restaurant as well. Very poorly run and very rude hostess. However our server was fabulous and I give her A+ because she was running her butt off too bad the mgr just watched instead of helping her probably would’ve had a completely...
Read moreBunch of friends were going to the Little Lake Theater nearby and met here for dinner before the show. The restaurant is very trendy and nice and we made a reservation. We were seated in the patio and since it was a nice night, the fans were working at a nice tilt keeping the air moving. While there were three waitresses on duty there, we were primarily served by one who handled our group of ten people.
According to those in our group who frequent this place, the menu has not really changed in years and they each had their favorites that they order each time. There are also specials, and this time of year, they featured peaches.
The waitress took our drink orders, but for some reason skipped at least one member of our party. The drinks were brought out in a random order over time by multiple other servers. My guess is that was determined by how the bar staff ended up making them. We also ordered several of the cornbread appetizers to share. That dish should really be on the dessert menu as it is crusted in sugar and is sweet to boot. While served in a cast iron skillet, it was served at room temperature - which made us wonder why it took them almost 15 minutes to get to us?
As far as the dinners went, I ordered the Chicken Enchilada and it was just OK. I've gotten similar ones at local tex-mex places and much better ones as well. Next to me came a Caesar Salad with a piece of Salmon as the protein. The Salmon was severely undercooked.
Overall, we were underwhelmed. Prices are acceptable, albeit at the top of the range for this kind of generic...
Read moreCame in for our anniversary and it ended up being a pretty disappointing experience. My husband ordered the short ribs, and was surprised when he was given boneless meat (the menu didnt say anything about it being boneless ribs) and he said it tasted more like a different cut of beef. I was planning to order brisket but they were out - so I got the chicken. The chicken was good.
Afterwards we ordered dessert. I ordered strawberry shortcake and was surprised when I was given a slice of standard white cake with a strawberry flavored sauce poured over that contained one whole slice of strawberry. Shortcake is typically a denser, more biscuit like cake. Had the menu said just strawberry cake, Id expect this. But it said shortcake so it was a bit disappointing.
But we were trying to make the best of it, but the final straw was when we paid. My husband paid with a $100 bill. When we got our change we were given all bills- my husband found this odd because the total was something with .55 cent odd change. When he counted we were shorted nearly 5 dollars.
We then tried to wave down a woman who appeared to be a hostess or manager but she didnt hear us. When he finally saw our original waiter he brought it to his attention and he gave us correct change.
Overall, it was a disappointing night when it was intended to be a celebration. I use to love Juniper Grill but I doubt we'll ever be back. It definitely wasn't worth the...
