Soooooooo, I went to City planter today! The hype is really just a hype. I bought a rhaphidophora and xerografía air plant both of which looked eh. The xerografíca air plant was noticeably browned on the tips and in the center bottom of the plant. I asked the employee if this was normal? And she said yes. Well it’s not after I got in the house and googled care for the plant both are no no’s in terms of health for the plant. These plant aren’t cheap! If I wanted a sick plant Id take myself to home depo and waste my money there. The other plant that I stated I purchased from there was soooooo dry! AGAIN a no no when it comes to that plant. When it comes to COVID I understand why you aren’t allowing the public to enter. But, at least have your employee bring more than one plant to the customer so we have a choice on what we spend our money on! Overrated not going there again. The cashier also said that you can’t touch the plant before paying for ? If someone has an extensive plant collection customers need to verify that they aren’t taking home any pests that could affect the rest of their plants. Oh, your window shopping is a terrible display. It looks closed there is no lighting to help the customers better view what’s inside. It might look ok from outside but when you get the plant it’s not what you...

I choose to visit City Planter based on the great reviews and it being only a 6 minute drive from work. I went on my lunch break.
Upon arrival I was not greeted nor did the two women staff ask if I needed assistance. Granted, one of the staff was on the phone when I arrived. But as I got closer to the counter neither were occupied nor bothered to say hello or offer assistance. What really led to my not so great experience; is that while I was checking out, 1 or 2 men entered the store and was promptly greeted by both women staff. Which made me realize how strange it was that I was never greeted.
I will never return to this establishment. As I was checking out the cashier was kinda nice, not sure if it was only because I was making a purchase. I only made a purchase because after circling the block several times trying to find parking in the rain, I refused to leave without a plant.
Other than the experience, the plant shop was rather nice. Many varieties of plants to choose from. The prices were pretty fair and the plants seemed to have been...
Read moreVisited 8/15 @ 2:30pm- decent selection of plants but customer service is terrible. The worst I’ve ever encountered.
We came based on the other high reviews but we were quickly disappointed. The two ladies working today (one named Susan) acted like us even being in the shop was a burden to them.
We were not even acknowledged when we walked in, never asked if we needed help, and when we went to the counter to purchase our $110 of plants, they looked at us with blank, annoyed looks.
If you want an amazing selection of plants, friendly service where the associates pay more attention to customers over laughing at TikTok/IG vids on their phone- I suggest visiting The Ground Coffee, Plants & Gifts or STUMP in NoLibs. The only reason we came here is because these locations were closed today (Monday).

Also, if the sticker price on the plant doesn’t include the planter- please at least mention this. It’s not all about the cost but it was another annoyance brought on by...
