We went to this place for a very last minute blow out for a friend and a hair mask for two other people. I didn’t make an appointment or at least I did (same day) but it wasn’t confirmed but we still showed up and they actually squeezed us in to their schedule. I would really recommend to book an appointment. Everyone was very friendly and always try engage you in a conversation. The salon and the bathroom was very clean and is well-kept. I must have missed it but I don’t think they have curling irons here, I think they only use a blow dryer and a round brush for your blow out (at least that’s what they did to my friend). It looks nice tho. Queen was great and my friend she’s fantastic. Our hair was very soft after doing the mask and my friend liked her blowout. I think on their website it says “blow drying costs extra”. We didn’t get our hair blow dried because we wanted it to air dry. If you have any questions, just give them a call or text them, they are very responsive.
Tiny gems: -the backyard I love how they have a backyard where you can sit (weather-permitting) while you wait for your hair to cure or do its thing. It is great to get fresh air and not smell all those chemical fumes from hair products. -snacks and drinks and waiting area This place offers snacks and drinks while you wait. They also have bar tables and chairs that is great for people that are not getting...
Read moreI scheduled an American Wave treatment (a perm, but different chemical process compared to typical perms) and they were very realistic about what to expect from the treatment. Because of the length of my hair and how stubborn it is since it wants to lay straight no matter what, they offered to either reschedule the appointment while they ordered a stronger perm solution, or to continue with the risk of not getting exactly the results I wanted. They squeezed me in within the calendar week and I got a trim with layers (with Anthony) before leaving the first day to make the perm process smoother. I'm super glad they were upfront about the results because my hair may not have held the perm if I did it same day. Marcos took an extensive amount of care to making sure my hair would come out fabulous, even with hair way longer than usual for the American Wave. Everyone is so nice, friendly, and easy to talk to. They were also very obviously experienced and knowledgable about hair types, products, and styling techniques and tips for at home. Scheduling is very easy via text with Gato. He was the one that actually talked with me through what to expect while I was waiting. Overall, I was totally impressed by how fluid and realistic everything was and especially the results of...
Read moreStaff are super nice &friendly, however I asked for an ombre look with burgundy. Gave pictures of the look and all. Leaving I was upset my hair was not how I expected at all.Coming home and getting a full look at my hair, I’m highly upset! Looks nothing like my request. I was there from 12:30pm-5:30pm and my look is completely upsetting. It was raining out and they had Both the doors wide open my hair kept freezing right up. After a full blow out with just the use of a blow dryer, I looked like I put my finger in a socket and got electrocuted HONESTLY! If I didn’t complain I would have been left that way because the use of a FLAT IRON is a complete different appointment and I was not told this prior to booking. They did bring the flat iron out after my melt down.I am Latina my hair requires both blow dryer and flat iron when ever getting it blown out or curled. I genuinely feel they can not handle Latina textured hair. The whole experience was “different “ from my normal hair visits at a salon. I paid a lot of money for a look I will be removing. I appreciate the kindness but HONESTY is key and everyone telling me it looks so nice on my way out while my ends are a hot mess! Is really...
