This doctor seems to either have forgotten (or never learned) that the patient should come first. He lacks any bedside manner or compassion. Forget about getting any help if he determines that it's not in his field. It's goodbye and there's the door. You would think just as basic human kindness he would at least make some suggestions about what to try next. You would think as a "neurologist" he would have studied vertigo and it's causes and courses of treatment. FYI if you're at the end of your rope don't expect any help from this guy. Perhaps Dr. Liu missed those classes and the ones in compassion and bedside manner. His lack of basic human kindness I have no explanation for. All the trouble to get to such an inconvenient location because Penn is so highly rated was just IMHO a waste of time. Plus my fiance felt much worse after his "consultation" than before. So much for "do no harm." Why opt for a profession dealing with suffering people when you don't care to deal with suffering people? R&D would probably make more sense as his career choice rather than dealing with actual human beings with real life medical issues. Next...
Read moreMy family is so thankful for finding Dr Liu. Our daughter had been a patient at Seattle Children’s for 3+ years before we hit the end of the road with their ‘expertise.’ Through my own research I found Dr Liu when looking for a second opinion for her diagnosis. It is obvious he is very knowledgeable in the field of neuro-ophthalmology, especially for us when it came to the diagnosis of pseudo tumor, and he made sure I understood the diagnosis and the treatment plan for our daughter. He answered any and all of my questions with sincere care. Dr Liu has great patient communication and was even available via email to answer my questions personally after our appointments. Flying across the country for our trips (we live in washington state) is a small inconvenience for the great care our daughter has received. We can’t imagine going...
Read moreAfter seeing various specialists - neurologists, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists, etc. - I was most impressed with Dr. Grant Liu. Dr. Liu was able to appropriately assess the issue and his staff meticulously performed many measurements and diagnostic tests. At one point, I felt like I was a patient starring in an episode of "House" as my condition is rare and there were many pupils looking on curiously. Dr. Liu was able to summarize the issue, provide his medical opinion and answered all the questions I had for him - all while engagingly educating the students. Dr. Liu was knowledgeable, professional, and...
