Good Food, But Rigid and Frustrating Policies

The food at CHOP’s food court is good, but the service policies are unnecessarily rigid—especially for a children’s hospital.

At 10:30 AM, we tried to buy breakfast, only to be told it was no longer available. When we pointed out pre-made breakfast items still on display, we were told we couldn’t buy them because service was "closed until 11 AM" when lunch would start. My child even asked until what time they served breakfast, and the answer was "until 10:30"—right before refusing to sell it.

The food court is nice to look at, but I wish the food had a better flavor. It's more like pepper is used to fake out that there isn't any other flavor. I am not a fan of a lot of pepper but I even tried the breakfast potatoes and I couldn't eat them ,all pepper. They have for a limited time roast beef sandwich that looks good but it's all pepper. There's a salad with balsamic vinegar and they put chicken in it that's good, in all fairness I have not tried everything I was there for 2 days with my son. Food and selection is good. Love the staff at the cash registers. They are absolute angels. The inflation and shrinkflation is getting out of hand. My daughter has been inpatient since December and i have watched the prices increase and increase. Today I received the most pitiful amount of food considering what I'm paying for. It also sucks that you can't use the meal vouchers that social work gives you towards a guest tray. It's really insane. These are amusement...
