Update: I upped my review to four stars because the owner, Terri, made things right. She was kind and apologetic about the situation and said that nothing like this has happened before and I believe her. Perhaps her associate Quinn was simply having a bad day. I wish the best for Terri and her business.

I am surprised of all the great reviews. I did not want to give too bad a rating because I don’t want to hurt the whole shop since my experience was only with one individual there, so I gave three stars. I’m not sure if it was something I said or if she was simply not great at her job but I had a rather unpleasant experience with poor final results as well. I always try to assume the best in others but I have been to a lot of barbers and salons and have had generally pleasant experiences. The lady I had (who did not give her name but had braces on her teeth) was extremely rough with the buzzer, hit/went over my entire ears with it a bunch of times until they hurt and were beat red, didn’t listen to what I wanted at all, rushed the haircut and constantly touched my face and EYES with her hands in some unusual attempt to pull my hair back, I suppose.(she touched my eyes and face about 30 times?!) She brushed my head so hard that it began to hurt and now still feels itchy and she brushed onto my face/head with a hard brush, which is also red now. She also tilted my head back and forward to such an extreme extent that it was comical. I was thinking “you’ve got to be messing with me.” I asked her for a fade and she instead hastily and roughly used one buzzer length for the entire side of my head, messed up my hairline and made my hairs look shaggy and unkept. I look like I still need a haircut. She also messed up my edges and made the hairline around one ear about an inch higher than the other and also missed a bunch of hairs all over. I've been to many Hair salons in my lifetime and I want to say I am extremely happy I made the choice to "park" at the corner where John Anthony Salon is located. I met the owner Teri to explain parking my work truck and I would be back in a few minutes to move it. I had to visit a job site nearby. After my business was completed I moved my truck to a better spot and went to have my hair cut. Teri was phenomenal! She gave me the exact cut/style I wanted all while being a great conversationalist! I felt as if she had been cutting/styling my hair for years! I didn't feel rushed and felt quite comfortable.
