To start off if you only plan of using the gym temporarily to get in shape for sports or to impress the wife or weight loss goals I suggest you go ahead to planet fitness because once you cancel there you don’t have to worry about them still taking money from your account I’ve recently been charged 78$ and I cancelled my membership and haven’t went to the gym in 3months I’m thinking I’ve cancelled and I’m safe little did I know, I’ve called the owner and he tells me that that’s how most gyms make their money and he could only give me 19$ back, and I’m not sure about how you’ve felt but I genuinely liked this gym and it started to feel like a second home I’m in the United States Army Guard and I have to deploy soon and I of course ran a red light and gotten a ticket so I was lucky enough to have an extra 100$ to pay it and be done with it so when I ship out I don’t have nothing to worry about and here comes this random payment taken from my account regret coming here!! TL;DR poor gym quality and terrible/shady management.

The gym itself is already in poor condition. Equipment is subpar (if even functional at the moment) and very ran down. Add on the fact that the gym is relatively tiny, it’s impossible to have a good workout during its busy hours.

That aside, there’s a far worse issue with this gym. That being the way it’s managed. I stopped going here in November. I properly went through their cancellation process and started attending a new gym. However, I later discovered that POST cancellation I was being charged the membership fee. I called initially telling the OWNER about the issue, 2 months had passed without fix in which I had to call again and visit in person. In which is when they finally fixed it. The total amount overcharged was $110.83. I have gone to this gym for about three years now. It is an excellent place with good prices and equipment. I would have recommend them to anyone looking for a gym in the area. However, as someone else mentioned, since COVID-19, gyms have been closed. Nevertheless, when trying to contact the gym about membership dues and pausing membership, there has been a startling lack of communication.
