I am from NY and wanted to try out this Philly Chop Cheese spot after hearing good things about it. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for Lunch and unfortunately was disappointed! The establishment was clean, trendy and had the vibe of a potentially great place. But I had to 'ask' to sit myself down since there was no greeting or direction upon walking in. There were customers sitting at 3 other tables and I noticed none of the table had food on them. I figured they were done eating and just taking their time enjoying the ambience of the restaurant/lounge. But it turns out they were waiting on their orders to arrive. I waited 15 minutes before someone took my order. I sat in the middle of the restaurant and watched as I was overlooked several times. Once my order was placed for a Chop Cheese and some buffalo chicken rolls - it took another 35 minutes before the 2 item food order arrived at the table. The customer service is horrible and probably the worst I ever experienced! The focus seems to be on the take out and Uber Eats/Doordash type orders. Dine in customers sit idle and wait far too long for service. The food was just Ok.. The chop cheese was thin, had no taste or flavor other than the condiments on the sandwich. It was basic at best. The Buffalo Chicken rolls were official and delicious. The homemade juices were also very good. But for the travel, time spent, and $35 for a sandwich, appetizer and single drink, I was not impressed at all and will not be returning. They have great potential... I hope they can improve their customer service and take a professional approach to being a business owner. I...
Read moreUpdate: Sorry to say ownership has changed and so did the place. The service is ok at best and the food also fell of in quality and taste but the prices went up. Sorry to see a good spot go down.--- They have something great here and brought something new to Philly I never knew we needed. I love a good cheesesteak, but this a nice change of pace and at great prices. The spot has a great look and vibe. The owner, Gaby, was a super nice guy with a lot of passion for what he is doing, and that shows in the food. I had their original chop cheese and just wow. The bread was perfectly toasted to give you that great crunch and still sturdy enough to keep everything together, and you need that because that meat, mmm, so juicy and flavorful. As a group, we also got their big platter that came with what seemed like the whole kitchen. A chop cheese, some of the best wings I've ever had, some Buffalo egg rolls, and a mountain of perfectly cooked cheese fries. To top it off, the place lends itself to making it feel like you can just vibe with other guests on its layout allows. At one point, we even started passing around the remote for everyone to play their favorite songs. Great food, great place, a definite must go. Gaby, it was a pleasure coming to you spot and wish you all...
Read moreI visited this resturant and lounge for the first time 5-17-2025. Hubby and I were looking for a spot to eat and a lot of places were already closed. It would be 11pm soon. We ran into this place while walking the ave. It is a family owed business with lovely ladies serving you natural fruit drinks, fresh made food never frozen or pre made. We got a rise and shine smash burger 9.5/10. We got the chicken renders 10/10. We got the old bay cheese crinkle fries 8/10. We got passion fruit and pineapple natural fruit juices both were great 10/10. Finally the famous philly chop cheese empanadas 10/10. The food is fresh and hot and great prices for the quality too. The owner Charita was such a sweetheart and she mentioned they book for private events. When they are open they are open until late hours. I recommend them for sure. We got all of this and only spent like $50. So very affordable. Per person i would say it depends on what you order. Anywhere from $10-20 or more per person. They added new menu items too ❤️
Regards from- A Happy...
