Iāve been a loyal client at this salon for over two years, routinely receiving the same CBD pedicure. Until now, Iāve never had a single complaint. But today was not just a disappointment ā it was a complete breach of professional and basic human standards.
The technician assigned to me casually mentioned she had never done a CBD pedicure before ā a red flag I mistakenly brushed off. What followed was a painful, humiliating, and frankly dangerous experience.
During the paraffin wax treatment (a standard part of the pedicure Iāve received many times here), she failed to follow basic protocol. Instead of applying the wax with the protective barrier that every trained tech should use, she plunged my bare foot directly into scalding hot wax. I screamed in pain. Yes ā screamed ā because my skin was literally burning. Her response? To shush me, clearly more concerned with appearances than with my well-being.
She then tried to proceed as though nothing had happened, applying oil and continuing the pedicure ā even as I repeatedly told her it hurt too much to touch. I kept trying to pull away, telling her again and again that it was burning and that her touching it made it worse. The pain was so intense I started crying right there in the chair, and she had to bring me paper towels while still awkwardly trying to continue the service. She even admitted that she felt bad for burning me and that she ādidnāt knowā it would be that hot. She wouldnāt stop until I had to firmly insist that the service be cut short because I physically couldnāt tolerate it any longer.
When I made my way to the front desk, in pain and visibly shaken, I expected at minimum a sincere apology and to have the entire service comped. Instead, I was offered a 15% discount ā which mysteriously became 10% at the register ā all while being told āIām not the ownerā repeatedly, as if that excused the complete lack of accountability.
Letās be clear: I was injured by a service I paid for. I was burned, dismissed, and then charged for the experience. The response I received from the staff was both unprofessional and deeply concerning.
Iāve supported this business for years. But no customer ā loyal or not ā should ever walk away from a self-care service with a literal burn and a receipt. Until this business reevaluates its training, customer care, and leadership response to injury, I urge others to protect their time, money, and skin ā and take their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a loyal client of ARIA Nail Bar on Central in Phoenix for 2ā3 years, visiting twice a month. Iāve followed Rena and Fong for over eight years, and I also regularly see Pearl. The quality of their work is always exceptional, and I take great care of themātipping each of them $40 every visit.
Unfortunately, my recent experience with the front desk left me extremely disappointed. I walked in to get one nail fixed and politely asked for help while on a muted work call. Vincent, the gentleman at the front, was immediately dismissive and told me no one could helpāeven though I expressed I was happy to wait. I mentioned that Rena or Fong had helped other clients in similar situations, even while they were in the middle of appointments with me, so I didnāt understand why that couldnāt be done now.
Instead of helping, Vincent raised his voice and told me I needed to ārespect him.ā I was appalled by his toneāhe was loud, condescending, and completely unprofessional. Everyone in the salon turned to stare, and I was left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable.
Ironically, just as I walked away, Rena had finished with a client. I asked her directly, and she warmly replied, āOf course, no problem.ā She fixed my nail in under five minutes, as gracious and kind as always.
Itās truly disappointing that someone like Vincent is the first point of contact for such a talented team. If it werenāt for Rena, Fong, and Pearl, I would have walked out and never returned. Thereās a nail salon on every cornerāand great customer service does matter.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously. The nail techs deserve better, and so do the clients who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this salon many times. Each time varies due to different nail techs. Iāve had decent/ average experience to plain right awful. Itās a hit or miss but today is the last time I will be coming here⦠yet again, I experienced a very rude nail tech ( mid length red/ orange Bob woman). This woman was extremely unpleasant, from the way she grabbed my hands, dismissed me when I asked for the colors book, cut me multiple times, and actually had the nerve to rip off a part of a broken pinky finger nail ( which made me bleed for a couple minutes and is extremely painful). She actually had the nerve to place a fake tip ( I requested for the repair) that was twice too large as my nail was actively bleeding. It looks horrible and by the way, my pinky finger nail is now bulky and looks very unnatural. It is crazy she wasnāt more gentle and chose to not use clippers to remove the broken nail. The tech who did my toes was very quiet which I donāt mindā¦she seriously nicked me four times and caused me to bleed. She was way too harsh on my cuticles and with the drill she used to remove my gel. The front desk man/ cleaning man are very kind but sadly this place has very impolite, unprofessional, not well trained nail techs. Side note, I had to stop requesting for French or any nail art because it was horribly done every time by different techs. On top of all this, all the techs have a difficult time painting nails accurately⦠they do a very sloppy jobā¦. Missing sides or too bulky with gel. The quality of service here is not worth the top dollar amount charged. I will not...
