We went last night for my husband's birthday celebration and honestly this place is really cool but there were some red flags/drawbacks that made me feel like I wouldn't come back. My team and I got to a step in the escape room ahead of schedule that we "weren't supposed to" due to a drawer didn't close all the way and then popped open AGAIN later while we were playing. When my friend and I noticed it was partially open and consequently opened it the rest of the way, an employee came busting in yelling at us to not break things/pull things open and essentially took the props from our hands and tossed them in the drawer, clearly irritated. Scolded us like children and over reacted. I came to find out this employee's name was Morgan. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and my entire group seemed a little hesitant to open things up after. As mentioned, this particular drawer popped open again later on and we were told that no, we can't open it. Due to faulty equipment and the rude staff member, I gotta knock off a couple stars. It was my husband's and I first escape room and we won't be coming back... I will say Issac at the end was very sweet and the employee running the desk but... I don't know it was weird having someone run in mid game to yell at us and snatch things out of our hands. For the price, I...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came to Puzzle Effect for a fun date day and had a great time! We chose the Amnesia room and were really impressed. The staff was super friendly, got us checked in quickly, and explained the rules clearly. They gave us a heads-up about a directional lock (which we always ask about since they can be tricky), but reassured us that their version wasn’t overly complicated—and they were right.
We powered through the first room and unlocked all five puzzles in about 10 minutes. Once we entered the second room, the real challenge began. It definitely tested our teamwork and communication, but that’s what made it so fun. We managed to solve all but one of the remaining puzzles without using any hints, and we escaped with about two minutes left on the clock, not bad for one of their more difficult rooms!
Afterward, we took our victory photos and were given a discount code for our next visit. We’re already planning to come back for the Cursed Sea room. Highly recommend Puzzle Effect if you’re looking for a well-run, challenging, and fun escape...
Read moreI have played over 10 escape rooms. I love to play one when I travel in new areas! My family and I decided to try Puzzle Effect first! We came to play Pipe Works but found out it was more of a competition against others in our team. Ky let us know and was able to change us to another room where we were able to work as a team! This was better with some first timers! We ended up playing Grim Stacks, and what a FUN room! Ky was an awesome game master, so enthusiastic and friendly! Ky really helped make the experience.
We then came back two days later and played the most difficult room, Curse On The Emerald Seas! This company runs some great, fun rooms. This time Jenna was our game master. We were sad not to have Ky but Jenna was just as awesome!! Jenna was handling things by herself tonight and even though the tv wasn’t working for us she did a great job and didn’t miss a beat! Jenna made us laugh and further made us feel that Puzzle Effect is superior to another company we tried.
We escaped both rooms by the...
