I have been on a sushi kick lately and started frequenting this place more often. A few of the sushi places around me are only open for dinner so this is one of the few available options for those looking to have sushi for lunch. They also offer their sushi lunch specials for both dine-in AND for pick-up, something I've taken advantage of a few times now. I like that the kitchen preps it with such care and detail. Everything is packaged up in a to-go container but then also wrapped in saran wrap to prevent any accidental leakage or other accidents (something I wish 95.5% of Chinese restaurants would improve upon). The sushi rolls I've tried are the over the rainbow roll, the cherry blossom roll, shrimp tempura roll, salmon roll, standard rainbow roll, and spicy tuna roll. All pretty on point, nothing super spectacular or flashy but enough to satisfy a sushi craving. I've only ever ordered sushi from here for take-out and on lunch special so the price value was always high. For dine-in, I've enjoyed from their 2pm-close happy hour menu which is pretty big and diverse. Their Sake (offered both hot and cold) is a great deal on HH. The inside atmosphere is bustling & trendy with a decent # of seats at the bar. During the months in which dining outside is enjoyable, they offer a big patio (outside bar seats also available). I am glad to have this place is in our...
Read moreThis is a good sushi spot, and I’ll tell you what’s good about it after I say one thing. It’s not the best sushi in the valley.
But that’s not always what you’re looking for.
They have an amazing set of lunch specials, so lunch is quick and pretty darned cheap for what it is. Bento box for those who want to be less sushi forward, and sushi specials for the sushi folk. The sushi and food is always consistent.
Similarly, their happy hour menu is available for a lot longer than most. Not as good a deal as the lunch menu, but it’s still not bad.
They’re also open fairly late in an area that tends to close down early, so a late drink or bite is a possibility.
I usually like to sit at the bar. The bartenders are nice, and they know how to make a real martini. The TVs aren’t as well curated as one could hope, but it’s not a sports bar.
If you want the best sushi in the valley, you can find it elsewhere, but if you want a great deal on quality food with nice people and a good bar, you can find it here.
Also, I wish they had online ordering for takeout, but their website is...
Read moreNot usually one to post reviews but this was an extremely terrible service, so bad that we left before our server ever even greeted us. Both myself and my friend are in the industry and were blown away by how terrible this was.
To give background, we were seated almost immediately on the patio as the restaurant was not that busy. After about 15 minutes of no one coming up to us, there was a table seated immediately behind us. Within about 30 seconds a server came up to them, asked them for their drink orders AND returned with said drinks without even acknowledging we were there.
We gave it a few more minutes to see if he would see that we didn't have water/he didn't greet us but once he came back to check on the table behind us again, we decided to leave. Within the approximately 20 minutes (maybe longer?) multiple servers, multiple hosts and a busser walked by us without even acknowledging our existence.
Absolutely terrible service for a place I used to love to come to. Ridiculous and won't be...
