If you want a detailed and perfectly close to the real thing description.... Check out "Michelle Cali" post down below in these reviews. I agree 99% with the exception that I did not stick around to shop here once I saw how the system worked and how inhumane some humans act over what they consider "material goods". The pound was $1.35 when I took my mother to check it out. The crowd is a mix of Spanish speaking humans (Dont want to say Mexican as Guatemalan's, Salvadoran, etc. aren't Mexican, there's white, some oriental, and black that I noticed. The cashier girls were very funny and courteous, and Floor manager Tracey was super kind and explained the system when asked. There was a white older male who is the top manager (boss) there. He was extremely rude and came off racist (Shame on him). I agree, many left children unattended and roaming the store without a care. The path to the restrooms was congested with carts full of clothes and covered, and people just hanging out there. Many men looked at you like you were some piece of steak! Very uncomfortable to take my kids there - will not return. On a "positive" it was entertaining lol - I was telling my oldest it was worse than anything I have ever seen during any black Friday. Describing it like It was like a heard of animals running for the last piece of food!!! CRAZY!!! Perhaps the arrogant manager (white older male) should come up with a better and safer system beforw they get a lawsuit! (If they haven't already) Other than that.... I respect and see the DESPERATE need of many humans with less opportunities and value those who would go to such places to clothed their families. However, I agree - Goodwill stores have a much better deals during their 50% sales. Word of advice - Check it out for yourself, dont go by my experience or someone else's - be your own person and go check it out yourself and aee what you think! JUST PLEASE DONT BE FOOLISH AND LEAVE YOUR KIDS UNATTENDED. BE A...
Read moreThe outlet is definitely dirty, so I suggest you bring gloves to look through clothes and bring work gloves if you plan on searching the household items or electronic bins, because you will run into broken glass or sharp objects at times. Some of the employees there are nice and some of them are not. However, I can't really blame them considering some of the people they have to deal with everyday. I also believe they have to be like that or it would be even more of a madhouse. A lot of the customers there wait like vultures when they bring out the electronics and they mad rush to them. They also break every single thing while looking for what they want. It is extremely disrespectful and annoying!! They really need to kick out anyone that is caught doing it! There are always kids running around and babies crying. The regulars there always have 3 or 4 carts filled up and it is hard to negotiate your cart anywhere. That being said, if you can get passed all the negative things I mentioned and you have some patience, it is SO WORTH IT! I have found SO many awesome things, it makes the regular Goodwill store prices look like Nordstrom's! Just some of the things I have found are: Juicy Couture velour jackets, MissMe jeans, Guess, snowboarding jackets, and, BEBE tops (all practically new). Christmas lights, holiday yard decorations are SUPER cheap, brand new rope lighting, a hammock swing brand new in the box, many vintage books, and more! But you have to be willing to search because everything you want will not be right on top. Follow my advice and it will be worth it!đ
BONUS TIP: When you get there, you'll want to find a sheet, blanket, or something along those lines and then use it to cover the things that you have in your cart. 1. It will help prevent people from taking your items. 2. It let's the employees and customers know that the cart is being used and wasn't just left there. HAPPY...
Read moreThis is not your typical thrift store. There are two sections to the store. The front section is full of bins holding clothing and small items. The back section of the store houses furniture and larger items. The furniture section just looks like a super giant version of what you find in any thrift store. But let's look at the part of the store that most people are interested in or just down right confused about. Like I said, in the front of the store everything is in bins and you must dig through it all to find anything. When you first walk in it looks like a madhouse with people's carts piled high to overflowing and clothing flying everywhere. There is a system to the madness and the best way to figure out the system is to just follow the crowd. At a certain time the workers there have everyone move to one side of the store and you must stand there and wait while they clear out one section of bins and bring in new ones. They then tell you that it's okay to resume shopping in which case you see the mass herd run to the new buns and start digging through them with crazy madness. If you find something you even remotely think you might like, toss it in your cart, because the moment you put it down chances are good someone standing next to you will snatch it up. The reason for this mad grab and take it partly due to the fact that you purchase by the pound, so many people are there shopping not just for themselves but for their entire family. On a good day you can luck out and get a whole school year worth of clothes for your little kid for around $20. This style of shopping is not for everyone. Just watching the crowds move like a swarm of locust devouring each bin can make you question how much the human race has actually advanced. But if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt and digging to find hidden treasures, then you may want to give this...
