My husband had a spinal injury and we called 911 for an ambulance and the fire and rescue came to my house and made him feel like a burden and tried to push him off and just put him in my car. We stated that he couldn't even move let alone sit up in a car, so he needed an ambulance so they went a got a tarp style transport bag and then carelessly dragged him out and down the stairs and allowed both of his feet to hit every single concrete stair on the way down. The lack of compassion and care was unreal. My husband ended up in the hospital for over a week and had emergency surgery in which they removed two levels of his spine and nerves that had to be decompressed because his sciatic was crushed and they implanted a metal plate and screws because of the extensive damage in his back.
