I'm not sure how this place gets so many good reviews. The work they do is good, but that's the only good thing I can say. Good work alone is not enough to merit a good review.
I don't come here often despite living so close because every experience is always bad. I'm a male. Incredibly tall and masculine. Before coming in I'm always freshly showered and groomed and presentable. I don't come in looking a mess, like I'm wearing the clothes I slept in, or smelling. I'm not the trashy rude customer that expects to be treated like royalty. I'm nice, friendly, and respectful and tip well. I like a salon atmosphere and even prefer salons for a haircut over barbershops. Most salons are very welcoming to the minority male demographic but in this one I always feel out of place due to the staff treating me like I don't belong. Receptionist interacts with me a bit different than the female customers, even the ones coming in looking a mess or like they crawled out of bed and came straight here. Get a lot of funny looks from the techs as I'm being directed to the seat. If ever try to make conversation with a tech they never engage and are dismissive. Because of these things I want to be in and out as quickly as possible and skip the pedicure and only do a manicure. The manicure itself is always good but the hand massage is always a joke. It's always awkward and bad and no real effort is used to massage the serum in well as I'm rushed out their seat to pay and give an expected tip despite the service I just received. Based on the pictures provided here, my hands are softer and better maintained than most of your female customers and you think I don't know what a proper hand massage should feel like? Come on now
Since most of you are women are feminine gay dudes (from what I've gathered interacting with the one nail tech here I've ever had that wasn't dismissive with conversation or treated me like I was out of place), the above paragraph probably won't matter to you. On top of the bad service I receive, it's their opening practices that I find the most appalling. I do not like waiting for an hour to receive a service so I always come in at opening time the few times I decide to come here. However, every time I come in right at opening time, they were never opened and had to wait outside alongside many other customers. The problem here is that this has happened every time I've come right at opening so it's a consistent issue. No business wants to make a habit of this, but this place should not want to make it a habit even more. The area this place is in is bad and the strip mall is run down and trashy. There's a lot of street rats roaming around at all times of the day that can heckle or harass the customers. On top of that, you're waiting outside in the heat which is especially bad in the summer. Last time I went it was already mid 100s when I had to wait outside past opening time because they weren't open yet. This is a terrible customer experience especially when you're not treated properly by the staff for not being their main demographic. I'm sure they have a lot of things to prepare before opening time but guess what? So does every other business. There is no excuse for making customers wait outside past opening time, even if you were located in a nice area or strip mall which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in yesterday for eyelash extensions. Not only am I having a horrible reaction to whatever, horrible super glue was used, but they're so heavy it hurts. Whatever she used to apply them is not recommended by any certified, experienced lash technician. They're so heavy it's making my eyes hurt. I wanted something natural and light, but I look like a drag queen! I'm sorely disappointed and should've known. Any reputable technician would stand by their work and be happy to give money back, because they have no reason to think anyone will ask for their money back in the first place. Then they tell me they can't remove them for 4 weeks?! I'm going to look ridiculous for my sisters wedding and it's because these guys do horrible lash extensions for people who trust that they're doing a safe, reliable procedure. Lash extensions aren't supposed to hurt. The glue isn't supposed to burn. She caked on SO MUCH glue, you can see it on top and on bottom of my lashes. I'm so disappointed. I'm heartbroken, in pain, and angry! They really should discontinue offering this service before they really hurt someone!!! She left glue on my bottom lashes, almost glued my eye shut, and just ruined my lashes for who knows how long. I only went there because someone recommended it, only to find out the girl who did hers doesn't even work there anymore. If they don't want to offer quality products at a higher price, they shouldn't offer it at all. Any reputable merchant would have a money back guarantee because they guarantee their customers satisfaction. They clearly have so many upset people complain about the lash extensions that they have them sign a paper saying that they don't do refunds. It's the most horrible customer service policy I've ever heard of. I'm saddened that I was so excited to see them to have this done, only to find out they knew how bad this procedure was, and took my money anyway. If I could give a negative 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāāāāā Hands down one of the best nail salon experiences Iāve ever had! Iām usually really hesitant to get manicures or pedicures because Iāve had so many bad experiences. Most places rush through it, donāt do a great job, and if you ask for something specific, they look at you like you have three heads. So honestly, I just stopped going.
But last week, I decided to give it one more shot and try Talk Nail Salon since itās right next to my house, and Iām SO glad I did! I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Ms. Melody, and let me tell you, she completely changed my outlook on nail salons.
I went with the deluxe pedicure ($60), thinking āIf itās bad, I just wonāt come back.ā But Melody absolutely blew me away. She gave me one of the best leg and arm massages Iāve ever had at any salon, hands down! She was super thorough, detail-oriented with both my feet and hands, and made me feel truly pampered.
The whole session took over an hour, included a heated neck pillow, beautifully scented treatments, luxurious soaking potions, and a relaxing ambiance. I honestly felt like I was getting a $150+ spa treatment.
To my surprise, the total came out to just $90! Iāve paid more than that for terrible service elsewhere. Iām someone who deeply appreciates quality care and attention, and this was it. The massage was so good I almost kicked Ms. Melody in the head from falling asleep and twitching! LOL!
I highly, highly, highly recommend Talk Nail Salon and especially Ms. Melody. I will definitely...
