OK, to be fair, I really like the stuff they have in the store, and I like the very nice ladies at the checkout counter, so that would give it a 5. But my recent experience would give them a 1, so it averages to a 3 star. I was trying to find a place that would pick up a couch that I had to donate, and an internet search led me to this thrift store, which allegedly has a truck that picks up furniture donations. So last week I called, and was told that they only pick up on Saturdays. Fine, let's set up a time to pick it up on Saturday. "Oh, someone will call you." Nobody called. So this week, I called again. "Oh, it's just a couch? We only pick up large amounts of furniture." Come on, it's not like I wanted them to pick up a toaster... it was a large, heavy couch, not something a single middle aged woman with no truck can just drop off in a drop box. I begged them to please work with me, because no other donation pickup service comes to Picayune, and I can't lift it. She said "I'll take your name and number and someone will call you." Sure. Since that worked out so well last week, I actually rented a truck, had to drag the couch through the mud because there's no way I could lift it, to load it onto the truck. I'm not sure it can even be sold now, because it's muddy and the feet broke off from having to drag...

That’s wrong. Also, ever since Pam Haynes passed (the founder), the prices are RIDICULOUS on certain items. Used to be flat rate depending on item; now they jack up prices on the nicer items to make a greater profit. 😞 They still do great work for families in addiction, but some practices are...

They do not teach the 12 steps, they do not have therapy, they do not believe in NA or AA, they do not teach addiction is a disease. They teach drugs and alcohol are YOUR choice. They teach shame and guilt to addicts who already feel shame and guilt. They only teach religious beliefs based off few points and interpretations from the Bible from a couple who started this ministry. Not real tools for addicts to survive in the outside world. Addicts need God and scientific studies with proper tools to survive in recovery. -a recovering...
