â 1-Star Review for Advance Auto Parts
I visited Advance Auto Parts today to buy new windshield wiper blades because my current ones (Rain-X brand) are loud and skip even in heavy rain. As soon as I mentioned that I didnât want Rain-X wipers, the store manager, Patrick, became noticeably rude and dismissive. Instead of helping me find an alternative, his tone and attitude made it clear he was irritated from that point on.
He told me Iâd âbe paying a lot moreâ for a different brand, which I said was fine. I asked about my options, and he showed me a few choices in the $25â$38 range. I also asked for a rear wiper blade around $14.99, and I agreed to that price as well.
When I was ready to pay, I took out a $100 bill (without handing it to him yet) so Iâd be prepared once he gave me the total. Before even telling me the final amount, he became more irritated and said he probably didnât have enough change for itârepeating it several times. I stayed polite and waited, but he never checked or completed the sale.
At that point, I simply thanked him and said Iâd go to OâReilly Auto Parts across the street instead. He then got even more upset, sarcastically told me to âhave a good night,â and when I replied, âI hope you have a better night too,â he shouted that he was going to have the best nightâbetter than mine!
I left, went to OâReillyâs, bought the same nonâRain-X blades with zero issues, paid in cash, and got $26 in change. I later called Advance to confirm the managerâs name, and Patrick was just as rude on the phone.
Long story short: the store manager, Patrick, was unprofessional, rude, and made what shouldâve been a simple purchase unnecessarily unpleasant. I wonât be returning to this location and will be giving my business to OâReillyâs from now on.
Honestly, if Patrick loves Rain-X that much, he and those wipers can ride off into the storm together. And heaven forbid you...

I spoke with a few great people at corporate who managed to talk me into giving the store another chance which I did and dealt with other employees until I had issues with employees that was unable to help with something as simple as locating the correct lug nut I needed for a aftermarket application. But the last straw was after buying parts online and not being able to pick them up at the store after they was paid for. The manager had a fellow co worker that didnât appear to be working this night ask me to leave and commented I was a very hard person to deal with. All while the manager said she didnât have time to handle my issue. This left me with a truck down and no parts in hand that Iâve paid for. I would love to speak with someone about this issue other than an employee...
Read moreI stopped going there a couple months ago because the manager wouldn't explain anything to me about my refund. I really needed cash that day so that I could go to another store and buy my fuel pump but instead of explaining how he couldn't give me cash, he just put it back on my card and told me to have a good day. I decide to give them another shot 1: because they are close and 2: because they were $10 cheaper on my starter. I wanted mine tested before I bought the new one, but no one knows how to use the tester. 4 people in the store and they all said "I was never shown how to use it." So either they have poor management not training their employees or they didn't want to test it. So I will be spending $10 more and driving...
