Ruined My Graduation – Worst Experience Ever

I’m extremely disappointed with Anthropologie. I ordered a dress for my graduation ceremony, but due to multiple issues with your service, it didn’t arrive on time—despite two expedited orders and several visits to your stores.

• 5/3: I placed an expedited order at the Seattle store, expected by 5/5. • 5/4: Returned to the store since I hadn’t received a confirmation email. I was told to wait until 5/5 and contact customer service if nothing arrived. • 5/7: Still no delivery. I visited the Pittsburgh store and was told the original transaction failed due to Apple Pay. I placed another expedited order, this time expected by 5/9. • 5/9: Still nothing. Customer service promised it would arrive before midnight. • 5/10: My graduation ceremony—I had to wear an old dress because the order hadn’t arrived. • 5/12: The dress finally arrived, but I had already left Pittsburgh. A friend had to pick it up and bring it to Seattle for me.

I’ve visited this store multiple times. I know that my size will most likely not be carried here - especially pants and skirts, but I like to window shop, and the wedding dresses attract my eye. Every single time I’ve come into the store I have never been greeted. I will specifically speak to this instance I had today. I walked in, in front of an employee, and I got no greeting or ask for help. Then I proceeded to watch 3 other women walk in, who were thinner than I am and they were all welcomed in and asked if they needed help shopping. I made eye contact with several employees as I browsed around. I had 1 employee give me an awkward “hi” as they shuffled by me. I was given weird looks, like why was I there. And I passed several employees multiple times and got nothing. I don’t know if this is deliberate, but it certainly feels like bigger, curvier, fatter women are not welcomed in this store, and...

I am not kidding when I say this is the store that launched a thousand looks! You can dress top to bottom here with avessories. If you are not familiar with the brand, this is hipster stuff. Im drawn to the boho style and this retail outlets has it in spades. Bridal has krept in too, just in case some lucky guy “put a ring on it.” But don’t expect to find a lot for big girls. Tuff to find much over size 12 or 14. In that case, better to shop online.
