Tako is not just a taco restaurant; it's an experience that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the heart with exceptional customer service. From the moment you step through the door, you're welcomed into a vibrant atmosphere where the aromas of freshly cooked tacos fill the air, and the friendly staff makes you feel like family.

Let's start with the food – oh, the food! Every taco at Tako is a masterpiece of flavor and freshness. Whether you're a fan of classic carne asada, adventurous with seafood, or prefer the plant-based options, there's something to satisfy every craving. The ingredients are top-notch, sourced locally whenever possible, ensuring each bite bursts with authenticity.

What truly sets Taki apart is their dedication to customer service. From the manager to the director of operations, every member of the team works seamlessly together to ensure a memorable dining experience. They anticipate your needs, offer recommendations with genuine enthusiasm, and take pride in delivering service that goes above and beyond.

The manager is always visible, greeting guests and ensuring everyone is enjoying their meal. Meanwhile, the director of operations oversees the restaurant with precision, ensuring that each taco is crafted to perfection and promptly delivered to your table.

The ambiance at Tako is lively yet cozy, making it perfect for everything from casual lunches to celebratory dinners. Whether you're dining solo, with family, or hosting a group event, the restaurant effortlessly accommodates with warmth and efficiency.

It’s a BAR (a pub if you’re a Brit) in all sense of the word: self-service, separate serving counters for libation and food (grub), high bar tables/chairs, all food are snacks/sandwiches. …QR menu but one has to physically go to the counters to order and pick them when ready.

It’s a VERY GOOD HAPPY HOUR bar 👍👍👍, with very good prices during the 2-hour window. But it is NOT a place to dine!

It’s in a great location. The establishment itself has good ambience with an outside (covered) and inside seating.

Staff in the serving counters are amiable.

Overall the food tastes good. Kudos to the homemade tortilla chips, and the queso fresco cheese dips 👏👏👏

BUT there are significant misses and/or Faux Pas 🫤🫤🫤 Food is not really made to order. It’s prepared way beforehand…For example, the guacamole comes pre-packed rather made to order. The edges are oxidized!!!

Contrary to their webpage, this is NOT authentic Mexican, one of great cuisines of the world. … Food here It is more CalMex or TexMex.

Authentic Mexican guacamole use fresh tomatoes, NOT lime.

Use of black beans is typical CalMex/TexMex. Authentic Mexican uses white beans.

Mexican tortilla for tacos are made from corn, NOT flour. (Kudos however that they do not use hard shells).

The idea of “fusion” with Asian cuisine is absurd. There is NO such thing as Asian cuisine just like there is no such thing as European cuisine. Their so called Japanese and Korean sauces come from bottle.— There’s no real flavor in their food that could be remotely attributable these two great cuisines.

Again, this is a good HAPPY HOUR BAR. Be aware that their cocktails and wines are very very highly prices outside happy hour👎👎👎. … While Mezcals and Añejos are the higher end of Tequilas, the price of bottles here are exorbitant…The wine selection is very limited, and are the lower quality...

My first experience with this restaurant was actually their downtown location with my Husband. I fell in love with the Tako taco that night & shared some pictures with my mom. She was VERY interested yet skeptical about it. 😅 She assumed the Octopus would be bland & chewy. So, I said how bout we go together so she could try it for her self & see I wasn’t lying. The only thing is, my mom is not a going out in the late evening kind of person & I knew that location opens at around 5 so it would be a stretch.

After some googling I found this location with lunch hours & it’s close to her house! #Score! So freakin perfect! My mom & I met here for lunch the other week & she was blown away first at the overall look & feel of the restaurant & then the food. She absolutely LOVED the Tako taco & said she would be coming back to this location often. It makes me happy that she enjoyed it so much. 🥹

For lunch we shared Guac & chips. The Guac was fresh & delicious. The chips were also incredibly fresh and delicious. My mom found the Guac to be just a little on the salty side but I thought it was perfect. It also didn’t prevent her from taking the remaining chips & Guac home with her. Haha. 😋 We both had a Fresca, hers was Mango & mine was the watermelon mint; both were very good & refreshing. Lastly, we both got a Tako Taco, the star of the show, & they were phenomenal (not that I expected anything less). We loved the balance of flavors & textures & then that kick of spice from the harissa aioli. A perfect taco.

The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful. You can tell that much care was put into the decor. My mom really loved the use of live plants too. The customer service was great & we thought the robot delivering our entrees to our table was SO cool. We can’t wait to come back for another Mother & Daughter lunch....
