If you are looking for an old-school bodybuilding gym, or a place to lift weights that isn’t a sterile/generic feeling commercial gym — this is the place. All of the staff here is wonderful, friendly, and helpful. This gym uses metal weights (which is hard to come across these days) and has a good variety of machines. One of my favorite aspects of the gym are the trophies and posters that cover almost every inch of the walls. This place has a lot of history, and the staff that work here have a lot of passion for weightlifting (and the Bloomfield/PGH community in general). If you are looking to join a gym that actually has purpose, look no further. Despite being more old-school, everything is maintained very well. I was traveling from South Korea and stopped by because Chris Bumstead was working out here.
But even if it's not because of Chris Bumstead, the history of this place is attractive enough in itself.
Although it is a bit unkempt in some places, the equipments are all in excellent condition and are full of truly "classic" equipments that are better than the newer ones.
If I ever come back to Pittsburgh I will definitely work out here and I will definitely keep thinking about this place...
