Kiln N Time — Attraction in Pittsburgh

I had been warned by a friend that the owner of this place was rude, but I had a great time painting pottery. I didn’t think Sandy was rude, in fact I thought she was funny and just really direct. However, when I went to pick up my pieces, she was very short with me. I was looking through the bags in the pickup box trying to find the one with my name. Sandy opened the door and asked, “Now what are you looking for?” I said my name and she said, in a snarky tone, “Well maybe try looking in the bag with your name on it?” She pointed to the bag that was mine, which I just hadn’t seen yet since there were several.

Like… it’s pretty obvious that I was trying to find the bag with my name??? There was absolutely no reason to be rude. I don’t get it. If she would have just waited a minute before coming out I would have found my bag and gotten my things in peace....

If you feel weirded out by the online website, trust your gut. I saw the policy about deposit, but wasn’t prompted during the booking process. Since I got an email that the reservation was confirmed, I thought that meant it was confirmed (duh, right?). Without any prior notice, the owner Sandy reached out the morning of our reservation (6 hours before LOL) to say it was cancelled. I tried to call three times and left multiple voicemails as I would have been happy to pay the deposit/in full (expressed in voicemails and emails). However, I guess this business just doesn’t want business! Buyers beware, I’m sure lots of other pottery classes in Pittsburgh may actually appreciate...

Walked in to the store, the lady was on her phone and made no efforts to get off of her phone or talk to us. She just pointed to her mask and then turned back around and continued talking. (Yes, the website says that masks are required). I had scheduled it far in advance and had forgotten. So anyway, I wanted to know if she had any that we could buy, or if we had 10 minutes to go buy them from somewhere and And come back. But she wound not get off of her phone to acknowledge us or answer these questions. Just let us walk out with no explanation. I’m a fan of masks and I encourage them in the appropriate setting so that is not my issue here. She...
