Will not entertain or ever suggest this place to anyone. EVER!... Was greeted in a very unfriendly low vibrating way by the individual working the window area. She was very pleasant & kind to the Caucasian patrons. I Was told there was a wait for outside seating & was willing to wait, even though the experience from the gate didn't start too great. After my acquaintance & I waited for about Fifteen minutes. A party of three Caucasians came in & was seated right away as soon as they walked in with no prior reservations. The individual looked at Me & said there's still no tables available for Your party yet; no explanation why their party was seated before us. When My acquaintance asked why they got seated before us. Her response was that seating wouldn't have worked for us?! This experience was a real let down! I heard GREAT things about this place & was so excited to give it a try. Yet due to the less than stellar energy We were greeted with & lack of kindness that radiated from the staff that I interacted with I will never try this establishment no matter how viby it might appear, or good the food may be! I am a BIG ENERGY person & if that's the energy they operate from, that's the energy that fills the core & that is not ENERGY I want to influence Me in any kind of way! Period! Ended up going to the Nook right down the street & it was a FULL VIBE! The staff & service there was TOP NOTCH!

Update... The response from whomever represents this establishment was even more detrimental than the experience itself. It's unfortunate there are Humans in this world that operate with this type of energy in businesses that promote inclusion & equality. Yet shame, dismiss, change the narrative of what really happened & further insult a patron for a horrible experience that occurred instead of trying to express a certain level of accountability for the experience happening in the first place.

I wish no malice on this establishment. However I will not support this type of energy on any level! Also not the only review that has expressed unpleasant experiences & less than...

I've been to this place a couple of times with my wife. They have great coffee and it's a nice environment. They have some exotic breakfast dishes, which are very good. I've only had one experience that wasn't enjoyable, but it was rectified by the manager.

One visit, I wasn't feeling in the mood for anything but a simple meal, so I ordered the Egg Plate (Two Butter Fried Eggs, with Mild Cheddar and Tomato with Toasted Tuscan Bread (add Bacon 2.5)). I thought that based on the quality of their other meals that this would be a unique spin on the light dish.

The meal came out with two thin slabs of toast, overcooked eggs, a few grape tomatoes, and Kraft singles. I thought I was part of a prank. I am not the kind of guy to complain so I ended up eating the egg and a piece of toast, but after that I decided that I needed to let someone know that I thought it was insulting.

Disclaimer - I complain at probably 1 out of 1000 restaurants despite the problem, I just felt really duped..

I politely asked for a manager and explained that I just wanted to let him know that although I didn't order one of the fancier items on the menu I thought that the high standard of the restaurant would have delivered better than Kraft singles and overcooked eggs. He then explained to me that on the weekends the chefs will sometimes use those cheeses because someone usually hand cuts the cheese and tomatoes and they don't have time. Long story short, the conversation wasn't aggressive and the manager ended up picking up the cost of the egg plate.

I went back to the table and we immediately requested the check. On our way out to pay the manager pulls us aside and offered us a desert as a way to apologize - this was a very nice gesture.

This experience won't keep us from going here, it was just hopefully a one -time mistake. It's obvious that the manager / owner understands that his customer's...

I went to this cafe with my friend and was seated against a wall in the corner. The meal was fine at first, but as I was eating a picture on the wall above me fell on my head. I was startled and upset. The manager came over to ask if I was okay and I said "I think so." My head started to really hurt as the meal went on and when it was time to pay I figured they would offer a discount or a free item considering I was injured in their cafe. But they didn't offer any price reduction and didn't even check to see if I was doing okay. I was very upset. I left with a horrible headache and ended up going to see my doctor who told me I had a mild concussion. Due to this, I decided to stop by the restaurant and ask for a refund of some sort because of the horrible experience that resulted in injury. When I stopped by the manager wasn't there, so I left my name and number for him to call me. He never called me and I waited two weeks. I finally called the cafe to see why he hadn't called and was met with extreme hostility from the manager on the phone. He accused me of trying to get money from them and was extremely rude to me. Out of frustration and anger, from being treated so poorly, I threatened to sue and he told me to go ahead. He did not issue any refund and was extremely hostile and inappropriate towards me about the whole situation. At this point, I don't want a refund or anything but an apology would be nice. I do not recommend this place to anyone due to my experience, and I will never be going back there. It is disgusting and upsetting how I was treated when I was injured on the...

This an awesome hidden gem of a restaurant that you should check out. Very instagram friendly with a patio mimicking the umbrella road in San Juan. It was a classic Pittsburgh overcast day when I went, but I feel like this would be the perfect breakfast spot on a nice Saturday morning! I got the Mr. Green savory crêpe and it was great. A really light crêpe that was filled with a balanced amount of spinach and 3 cheeses and topped with a glaze of some sort. Overall, really a good place that will definitely fill you, but you’re still able to walk out feeling a little healthy. It was served with a side salad that was a little heavy on the balsamic, but to eat their own. I also got a cup of hot chocolate that was perfect for a slightly cool morning. I couldn’t taste the Nutella all that well, but as hot chocolates go, it was really good! Like I said, the back patio is where it’s at. You’re seated closer to other diners because they’re trying to maximize space and I think it’s always good to interact with strangers and to put down your phone, so it was a plus. It was kind of busy when I went so the kitchen was probably slammed, but i would definitely come back and show off this hole in the wall that everyone should visit.

Found this spot on google by typing in “healthy options near me”. This spot was interesting in that they had some really nice PROs but also some very glaring CONs. PROs: 1) Location- the location is nice and it’s right off of Penn Ave nearby Children’s. The outdoor seating is really nice and I love the umbrella roof they created 2) Fruit options on the menu- they had a large selection of fruits. The fruit platter was amazing it consisted of: apples, pears, cherries, bananas, and strawberries. All fresh. 3) simple menu. CONs: 1) Quality of heated food- the chicken used to make my chicken sandwich was frozen chicken pieces. The French toast seemed frozen too and then reheated on the flat top to keep it 100. 2) Inaccurate explanation of items on the menu- this is minor but a con nonetheless but they say they offer avocado for their sandwiches but in reality it’s an avocado paste. Not the same and it may have been from a bag. They need to say it’s a paste and not mislead. Overall I think this spot is better for lighter meals as their salad and fruits were nice. I’m iffy on their meats except for their bacon, their bacon was pretty good.

A Morning Surprise at Caffe Mona La Bistro On a Wednesday morn, with my heart in a whirl, At the children’s hospital with my sweet baby girl— The weight of the world pressed quiet and deep, Till I found a small café that made my soul leap. Caffe Mona, a treasure tucked sweetly away, A haven of comfort to brighten my day. I wandered inside, drawn by scents in the air, Not knowing that glory awaited me there. The “Elvis” they said—French toast like a dream, Two croissants so golden, like stars in whipped cream. Egg-battered beauties, cooked to delight, A breakfast creation that set my soul right. Peanut butter and bacon in perfect embrace, Bananas and syrup danced all over the place. With powdered sugar, a heavenly snow, And maple that whispered, “Just let yourself go.” Each bite was a blessing, a rich symphony, Of sweet and of savory, pure harmony. I sat in that moment, no worries, no care— Just buttery joy and love in the air. To the staff and the chef, my heartfelt salute, For turning my day from heavy to sweet fruit. Caffe Mona, you’re more than a meal— You’re a memory, a comfort, a place that can heal.
