They have a lot of "southern" style food. Best fried chicken is HERE.
Hyacinths. Tulips. Lillies. Orchids. Oh my. Even bouquets. And Roses!
Prices are a bit high. Eggs begin at $8 and go up. Depends on what you're getting. You MUST try their fresh fried fish! I kid you not it, may be the BEST on the Northside! I'm not typically a fried fish kind of person, and I LOVED IT!
The shelves are cleaner, cashiers are nicer and friendlier.
Renovations are all over this place! You can get stuffing, whole meals, almost everything other Giant Eagle's do.
They got the Giant Eagle Buffalo Chicken Dip! So good!
I go because I am like 5 minutes from the store. So it's convenient as all get out. šā¤šš Which I love.
But the lines are so long! The lines go back into the aisles, still. They really need to extend the store so that it will be accommodating to their lines. Lines going back into the aisles just isn't a good look. And it frustrates the customer clientele.
Better personnel and customer service -- keep improving on that. Can never have too many nice employees. They did this but again, you can never have too many professional and friendly employees. Friendly customer service ensures customers come back, and creates lineage of customers in families.
There's still some panhandling that goes on outside the storeš, but the store has taken so many measures since my last review. šSigns, painting, markings. I'm so happy for the progress on this. š¤©They still have a way to go...
Just got asked by a shady character if I wanted "car service". šAnd before today, I had been asked by someone in the freezer section if I wanted to buy his food stamps. š¤Æšµāš« That is illegal folks!šš£ And the security is either allowing it to happenš”, or not aware of it.š²š³ They can't be that oblivious. š¤ÆOf course I told the jagoff to go away and that I wanted no part of what he was doing.
New foods in prepared foods and all over. New signage outside the store. So many improvements. ā¤ļø
But we can still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's always difficult in there. So many things. Today. the last thing I want to hear from a 22 y.o. mouthy unmasked checkout person is that she doesn't believe in the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. Keep it to yourself please and do your job.
Nov 4 ... Now, I am done with this store. No public restroom. Giant Eagle was the last place on a long list of places I needed to stop today. And of course since I was last there (which was a while ago), some "genius" thinks it's a good idea to close the public restroom.
Wait for it ... I know you are wondering what I did.
I walked out. And will most likely never walk back in. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt 3X as big with some kind of a cart return system that actually works + public restrooms + alcohol sales. No wonder you cannot turn a profit here, the store is too small. And whatever the management team is doing to make this place better, I have not seen it come to fruition. YES, this is the closest grocery store to my house, and YES I will drive my car somewhere / anywhere else...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAgainst my better judgment, I decided to shop at this location. Crime runs rampant here, both inside and outside the store. Drug addicts & people who are in need of mental health personnel are a constant at this location. You won't get free bags for your groceries, but you are assured to get someone asking you from money, cigarettes, or both. Getting in and out of the store is taking a chance as much as having the sale prices correctly appear on the shelf on the first day of new sale. The employees have gotten so accustomed to what they have to deal with that they have become impervious to their surroundings. Simply entering the store feels like a prison yard complete with lights and announcements on loud speakers regarding the 24-hour surveillance there, which is totally ignored by the people who are the problem. I know that times have changed drastically, and desperate times call for desperate measures, but no other location, to the best of my knowledge, have let their patrons...
