Beautiful! While taking a walk from the National Aviary to Randyland, we stumbled upon the Olde Allegheny Community Gardens. Sometimes it’s a better idea to take the walk and take in your surroundings. We entered the gates and saw everything and the kitchen sink (well, bathroom anyway) There were so many paths that could be taken finding lots of colorful blooms, veggies, recycled pieces serving as art…an all around lovely place. After visiting Randyland, we took a different back to the Aviary and came across another completely different garden that was also part of the Olde Allegheny Community Gardens. What a treat to see that they used not 1, but 2 empty lots and made them beautiful! The do look like they are becoming a tad overgrown, but it is probably due to it being the end of the season. If you decide to venture out on foot, stop by!

It’s a beautiful thing to see this garden still thriving. My Uncle Jake (JC) and my great grandparents STARTED this garden YEARS AGO back in the 70s or 80s when they owned the candy store.
