Allegheny Commons Park North Park — Attraction in Pittsburgh

A really beautiful park, and if you're concerned about safety make your own judgement- but as a woman alone, I sat on a bench at sunset and sketched the old theater across the street. A man came up to me and said "I've never seen anybody do that here! Are you for real sketching? The park isn’t too bad, but it isn’t maintained. The sidewalks are cracked and full of holes. The pictures online make the park look way better than it actually is. The park doesn’t exactly feel safe. People will come up to you asking for various things. As a man I didn’t feel in danger, but women should be careful. We probably won’t be back. There isn't a whole lot in this park other than walking space but it is really nice walking space. The paths are either crushed gravel or falling apart asphalt there is a playground at one part of it. A good farmers market happens here.
