Beyond the Roots — Local services in Pittston

I recently had an appointment here with Alyssa for a cut and highlights. I am still (a week later) looking in the mirror in disbelief that I finally found someone that knew what kind of cut and color I wanted, I barely told her, showed a picture and she nailed it. Alyssa is an extremely talented and PROFESSIONAL hairstylist. Not once did I feel like she was anything but focused on what she was doing with my hair. I have recently visited other salons, one also in Pittston, and regardless if you’re getting a decent service, the whole experience should be comfortable and pleasant. From check in to check out. Period. These appointments aren’t cheap, and I’m not the type of person to sit in a chair in an environment where there are multiple conversations going on about things that do not align with what I believe in. These businesses should be more aware of ALL clients sitting in their chairs and more respectful unless you JUST want clients with those same values in your salon. That is not the case at Beyond the Roots. All are welcome there and the place is bright, cheery and spotless. I had a lovely appt. And I can’t remember the last time I used that word. I am really happy I found someone who really knows what they are doing with my hair and who is respectful to every single client she has regardless of what they believe in. THAT is what it means to be a professional. I work hard to be able to afford getting my hair done and I highly recommend Beyond the Roots....

Awful experience. Would not recommend to people. I had been seeing a hairstylist here and loved the results but she resigned, so they kept my root touch up appointment and gave me another stylist who examined my hair and wasn't comfortable doing anything at all to my hair, refused to bleach the roots and was negative and made me feel bad. Total waste of my time. I had just been bleached in your salon from dark to light the month beforehand, please don't give me to someone who refuses to do my hair. Just want to edit that when I came here with the new stylist, it was not booked as a consultation. This was an actual root color appointment. She did not offer to darken the roots or blend anything did not offer anything but to wash my hair and apply a conditioning treatment and then see how she felt. It was ok to do last month at this salon, now it's not...

Rachel knows blondes. She is hands down, the best stylist and colorist in the valley. I have been to 4 different huge & well known salons in the valley, who have all done wonderful jobs, but none of them come close to the perfection and vision of Rachel. I would never trust anyone else with my hair! The salon is newly built and well designed. It is comfortable and nice to relax in once you have your foils in! The prices are in line with all of the other salons in the area. You can get your eyebrows waxed while you wait. The energy. I have been to salons where the women are all arguing with each other, someone is always mad at someone else. BTR is just a vibe that you want to be a part of. You will leave...
