Bigger than the K Ave store, offers beer and wine. May have been upgraded with additional freezer space and selling floor in preparation for the upcoming grocery wars.
Rival discount German grocer Lidl is said to be coming to Texas within the next couple of years, and Aldi is gearing up by remodeling and enlarging its stores.
Although the selection is limited and there are few national brand names, Aldi destroys the competition on price. Most products are just as tasty as the name brands as far as I'm concerned (Disclaimer, I'm a big Trader Joe's shopper, too) and much better than equivalent Wal-Mart house brand products.
Aldi and Trader Joe's often beat Wal-Mart on price for equivalent items, too. When Aldi has special deals, they're often really great finds. If you see one of these, get it when you see it, or you'll miss out. They are very limited quantities. These are the hard goods that are mostly seasonal or thematic, like household items, things for...
Read moreThis location seems better than most. The store is newer, cleaner and larger. Plenty of selection and everything always seems to be in stock. However, they seem to have an issue with employees. On 3 separate occasions I have stood in line for 10 minutes or more waiting on backup at the register. There is always just 1 person up front and even though they call for help, help doesn't arrive. Sad thing is, it's always been the manager that takes too long. First visit the manager was needed to void an item and it took almost 15 minutes for her to come up. This most recent trip, the manager was needed to help on the register and after waiting approx 7 minutes, they showed up. Once they are on the register, they have no sense of customer service! No hello or how are you. He just rang up my items, told me the price, took my money and off he went. I think if they got new management, this location would be one...
Read moreTerrible customer service. Not only did I wait long in the line because one register was open. Another employee came to open the second register, he allow people behind me who just arrived after I waited 15 mins, to go first even tho they waited less than 5 mins and 4 more pilled after them. Is it hard to ask for the next customer to come over and have proper customer care? Clearly I was blocked from doing so and that employee didn’t even care.
The lady in front of me had a full cart so I ended up waiting even longer..and the Camille chick gave me an attitude and got defensive when I asked her to share the feedback with her manager. She can’t even do her simple cashier job, imagine being in corporate with that defensive attitude. I had to repeat myself and tell her it “isn’t about her.” And her response “okay I had nothing to do with that , I wasn’t there, I will share...
