Best Indian food I have had in a long time.
We tried the Chicken Vindaloo, Goat Chettinadu, Chicken 65, and Dum Biryani. Everything except the biryani was ordered as spicy (they have a mild, medium, spicy scale for ordering heat level).
Each dish was clearly freshly prepared and full of wonderful flavor. The chicken 65 was freshly fried, juicy chicken thigh meat and deliciously spicy (but not over seasoned). The Vindaloo was my favorite - prepared more like a curry than other variations, with ultra tender potatoes - it was creamy and you could taste the flavors of the different spices used, not just chili's and vinegar. The Chettinadu was no slouch, either, with a wonderful nutty flavor that kept me coming back for "just one more bite". The biryani was good but unremarkable, maybe not quite as aromatic as some others - however they have several different variations available, so perhaps one of the others has the flavor profile I'm seeking. That said, the raita and mirchi ka salan (which in my experience tend to usually taste the same, kind of like most condiments) were amazing, and made the biryani really stand out.
The service was outstanding. We were seated quickly and ordered right away, and food came out literally as it was done being prepared. Our server was all smiles and very friendly.
My only nitpicks was the air temp was set a little high and there were no fans blowing inside, maybe it's comfortable in some seasons but in June it was a bit too warm. The water was served in small bottles - and it, too, was room temp (leukwarm). I would have really liked a cool drink of water with my meal. They do have signs saying it is BYOB, but I didn't expect them to not have ice water.
However, when it comes to the food I think this place does it better than anyone in the area. Indoor dining could use some added comforts, but if you're looking for a new Indian spot to try then look no further. We will be...

Traveled all the way From Irving only to taste their bland, uncooked and Dosa like rubbish (I never say that about food, but..). We ordered onion Podi Dosa, Madurai mutta Dosa, ghee kaaram Dosa and a Chicken majestic. The onion podi Dosa neither had podi, nor onion, and the Dosa was half cooked on the top. We felt the raw batter spoiling our taste buds which was already spoiled by the bland and dry majestic chicken. Madurai mutta Dosa didn't have salt in it. Ghee kaaram Dosa didn't smell like ghee for 1 cent! The sambar was exceptionally bad to add to the chaos we were already going through. It tasted like they ran out of sambar and they added water and salt to the leftover and served us. Only solace was their peanut chutney, it tasted like food. Total bill for 2 was around 35 bucks, we left there giving our feedback to the cashier! We had digestion issues later that day and felt uneasy through the night. I never thought a vegetarian food could cause me food poison, and it almost...
Read morewent in at noon on sunday and there was nobody in the restaurant (foreshadowing?)
we take a seat and the waitress comes by to take our order. my brother orders butter chicken—they’re out of chicken. my dad orders a goat curry—they’re out of goat. for a restaurant where almost all of the non-veg entrees are either goat or chicken, this was beyond disappointing.
we place our orders for three biryanis and the waitress leaves with our orders after apologizing for not having goat or chicken. not more than three minutes pass before she comes back, telling us that it’ll take at least 30 minutes for a biryani. that’s fine, we’ll wait. the waitress comes back again, this time urging us to order an entree because the biryanis will take too long. maam, we wanted to order entrees but your limited inventory prevented us from doing so.
we’ve already ordered three biryanis at this point AND stated that we’re fine with waiting 30+ minutes for them. we left without ordering more food that we didn’t want.
hopefully if you try this place, they’ll actually have food...
