Southern Hospitality — Local services in Plant City

Southern Hospitality is one of those very unique places. Lots of floral stuff for those of you who are handy with making arrangements and that kind of stuff. Here it is mid November and they have lots of Christmas items out. All types of rustic items, signs, plaques and they do picture framing as well. Just too long of a list to mention it all. We have bought a couple pieces of furniture from Southern Hospitality over the years. Some of their furniture is not the best quality but some is perty good quality. (Something for every budget). And of course the price varies accordingly. There's furniture for the bedroom, living room and dining room. Lots of lamps and all the accessories. We bought a dining table a couple years ago. Solid wood, not a thing wrong with it, for around $100. (I think they just needed it gone because it didn't have chairs) Today we bought a TV entertainment stand. Real solid wood, made in USA. We paid about half as much as a furniture store wanted for a piece that was not nearly the quality of material and workmanship. Southern Hospitality - - - a must browse...

This store has two signs at their entrance stating masks or social distancing is required. We walked in with our masks on only to see a group of employees talking to one another and not one of them was wearing a mask OR standing 6 feet apart from one another. We ventured further into the store only to see customers and every employee not wearing masks. Given the narrow isles and crowds this store commonly has how can anyone social distance while shopping there? During the 15 - 20 minutes we spent inside we were passed by a family of 3 within 2 feet of us not wearing masks and a couple of employees walking through within touching distance, again without masks. This store is way too loaded with merchandise and shoppers to believe anyone could possibly social distance in there. No thank you I will shop somewhere else that takes the safety of their customers and staff...

Today my husband and I went to Southern Hospitality looking for 2 dinning room sets. I found lots of tables chairs and China hutches that I liked and decided on 2 sets but needed help. Well the lady at desk really had no desire to help us and she rudely handed me a catalog and said I could look thru here and see if I found matching hutch for another table I had in mind. Well my husband politely asked if we could sit at a table while looking and she said no sit at this table. She actually argued with another man there because he asked why we couldn't sit at the first table. I figured they must be related by the way she spoke to him. Anyways long story short she made me feel extremely unwelcome and I let her know I appreciated her "Southern Hospitality " and that we wouldn't be buying anything from that place!! They probably lost about a five thousand...
